Recently Warner Bros. Pictures held the Los Angeles Premiere of 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Even though the streets were closed from Highland to Orange, it basically was a small premiere with the stars of the film and a few guest…and of course fans. Lena Headey reprised her role, Queen Gorgo, from 300 (2006), but thinking back to the first film’s premiere missed seeing Gerard Butler walking the carpet (he was killed in the first movie). Seen walking the carpet were the stars of the film, which included: Eva Green, Lena Headey, Callan […]Read On »

Then, Warner Bros. sneaks this first look of actor Henry Cavill as Superman, and well, it’s pretty freakin’ cool. The ghost of Christopher Reeve and near lookalike Brandon Routh is giving way for a more modern caped crusader. The movie opens June 14, 2013 – so we have a long time to wait before fanboy nirvana (or exhaustion hits), but for now, nicely done.   AGREE? DISAGREE? LET US KNOW HOW YOU FEEL – COMMENT BELOW! Now that the heroes have almost all been cast for the new Superman movie reboot MAN OF STEEL (which is what Warner Bros. is now officially calling the film ), it’s time to move on to casting the villains. Today, Warner Bros. announced that REVOLUTIONARY ROAD and HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE star Michael Shannon will take on the role of General Zod originally made famous by Terence Stamp in Richard Donner’s 1978 original SUPERMAN and 1981’s SUPERMAN II. SUPER PUNCH helmer Zack Snyder is in the director’s chair for MAN OF STEEL while BATMAN reboot director Christopher Nolan is in the […]Read On »

CD Review: SUCKER PUNCH soundtrack

Sucker Punch soundtrack | © 2011 WaterTower Music

Music has always been a driving force for Zack Snyder’s gloriously insane, slo-mo’d visual style and now it’s a fabulous female fighting force of the mind that transforms a standard collection of pop-rock-alt. hits into something as gloriously insane, and powerful as a giant sword-swinging samurai. It’s doubtful if the Eurythmics, Bjork, Grace Slick or The Beatles could imagine any slight cobwebs on their work being dunked into a blazingly cool remix firebath. What emerges from the transformed likes of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Army of Me” and “White Rabbit” are mini rock operas with a new, electrifying […]Read On »
