Paramount Pictures recently held the Los Angeles Premiere of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The TCL Chinese, where normally premieres are held is shut down for the summer for remodeling. Closing Hollywood Boulevard from Highland to Orange to accommodate the fans for this next installment in the STAR TREK Universe. Fans were everywhere hanging over the railings in the Hollywood/Highland Complex, besides in the bleachers overlooking the gray carpet and on both sides of the street. Filmmaker Steven Soderbergh has long been interested in the late pianist Liberace as a potential subject for a film. When Scott Thorson, who was Liberace’s lover for six years, wrote a book (with Alex Thorliefson) about their relationship, Soderbergh felt he had the spine of his story.
