It was a bittersweet night for writer/executive producer James Duff. THE CLOSER, the series Duff created starring Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda Leigh Johnson, a Southerner who comes to Los Angeles to be Deputy Chief of the LAPD, finished its seven-year run last night on TNT.
