As Fox Network’s Thursday-night GOTHAM heads towards its Season 4 finale, the title city is descending into chaos, courtesy of the mad followers of proto-Joker Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan). This doesn’t sit well with the more organized criminal mastermind Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, who is played by Robin Lord Taylor. In an exclusive phone interview, Taylor gives his thoughts on Season 4 and the state of Oswald’s relationships with the other GOTHAM characters. ASSIGNMENT X: GOTHAM executive producer/show runner John Stephens said that you just brought such sympathy to the character of Oswald that we wound up rooting for […]Read On »

LUCIFER: Rachael Harris chats Season 3 – Exclusive Interview

Rachael Harris in LUCIFER - Season 3 | ©2017 Fox/Jason Bell

In Season 3 of LUCIFER, Monday nights on Fox Network, there are a lot of characters with exotic backgrounds. There is of course the title character (Tom Ellis), who is literally the Devil; his angel brother Amenadiel (DB Woodside); the demon Mazakeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), formerly Lucifer’s minion and Amenadiel’s lover, now heartily annoyed at both of them; and lawyer Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer), whose body was inhabited for awhile (though no longer) by the goddess of all creation, aka Lucifer and Amenadiel’s mom. Sorting through all of this is psychotherapist Linda Martin, played by Rachael Harris. Linda is a regular […]Read On »

GOTHAM: Alexander Siddig talks the return of Ra al Ghul – exclusive interview

In Season 4 of GOTHAM, Thursday nights on Fox, it appeared that young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) had killed Alexander Siddig’s character, the enigmatic and nefarious Ra’s al Ghul. However, this is GOTHAM, where the dead don’t always stay dead. Moreover, Siddig remains in the opening credits and has appeared in previews for future episodes, so it seems Ra’s isn’t done tormenting the future Batman just yet. The Sudan-born, English-educated Siddig has major genre cred. Siddig spent seven years as Dr. Julian Bashir in STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE. Other genre work includes REIGN OF FIRE (dragons), PRIMEVAL (dinosaurs), the […]Read On »

On Fox Network’s 9-1-1, currently in its first season on Wednesday nights and already renewed for a second, we follow police officers and firefighters and the emergency call center that tells them where the newest crisis is happening. Rockmond Dunbar’s character Michael Grant is not a firefighter or a cop or even a 9-1-1 operator. Michael is married to police officer Athena Grant, played by Angela Bassett, who is also one of 9-1-1’s executive producers. The marriage is under some strain, to put it mildly. Michael has just come out relatively late in life as gay and is in a […]Read On »

THE RESIDENT, now in its first year Monday nights on Fox, is a different kind of medical show. It starts out with one of its main characters, Bruce Greenwood’s top surgeon Randolph Bell, covering up his patient-killing operating room mistake. While there are plenty of ethical doctors and nurses around (played by Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal and Shaunette Renee Wilson, among others), THE RESIDENT also gets into a subject most other shows in the genre avoid like the plague: medical bills. Merrin Dungey (the “g” is soft) plays hospital CEO Claire Thorpe, whose job it is to maximize profits. Dungey, […]Read On »

In the previous season of LUCIFER, on Fox Network Monday nights, Lucifer’s Mom escaped from where she’d been held prisoner in Hell. Mom, a celestial being, took over the body of recently-deceased defense lawyer Charlotte, played by Tricia Helfer. Charlotte loves her sons, including fallen angel Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and regular angel Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside). Even though she mostly despised humans, she had an affair with extremely bewildered LAPD Detective Daniel Espinosa (Kevin Alejandro), the ex-husband of Lucifer’s detecting partner Chloe (Lauren German). At the end of Season 2, Mom left Earth to Create her own universe (she has that […]Read On »

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, who investigate possibly paranormal and/or extraterrestrial events with varying degrees of belief and skepticism. Fox Network’s LUCIFER is now in its third season on Monday nights. Tom Ellis plays Lucifer Morningstar, the actual Devil, who has left Hell to become a nightclub owner/police consultant in Los Angeles. Lucifer has just found out that Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling), the new head of the police precinct where Lucifer consults, is actually the Biblical Cain.
