The episode was frankly pretty bad and it wasn’t clear what, if anything, a new show and new characters would do that regular flavor CRIMINAL MINDS wasn’t doing. Well, CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR has now launched its first independent episode, “Two […]Read On »

Cast: Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez Network: Fox, airs Wednesdays and Thursdays Original Telecast: February 17, 2011 I really wish that they would have started this year’s AMERICAN IDOL in Hollywood. It would have not only saved me some time in my life, but it would have given us an even greater insight into the whole process of deciding who gets to perform for America and who does not. Don’t get me wrong, I have been more than happy we have gotten as much as we have as we have not had this type of access or […]Read On »

CD Review: Occult Detective Club – CRIMES

Occult Detective Club - CRIMES

While it might seem easy, crafting a solid power punk album requires a couple of important ingredients that are often forgotten – namely attitude, angst, crunching guitars and short songs. This formula is strictly adhered to by Occult Detective Club on CRIMES, which delivers a tight 12 song disc that clocks a little under 30 minutes. Guitars jangle forcefully on the lead-off track “In Another Life” and segue into one cool track after another with “Our Bitter End” being the strongest, while “Calling the Detectives” provides playful wordplay and toe-tapping fun – “she’s calling the detectives/you’re gonna need an alibi.” […]Read On »

Then there’s Stefan’s brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who has bouts of homicidal behavior when not making plays for both Elena and Katherine. But in the midst of all this is Candice Accola’s Caroline, Elena’s high-school bestie who just […]Read On »

The Dork Side: Why does everyone love Charlie Sheen?

Charlie Sheen in TWO AND A HALF MEN | ©2009 CBS

Charlie Sheen is a douche, and I don’t really care if he gets help. Yeah, I said it. I find it disturbing that this country is so willing to embrace the drug-fueled antics of a thrice-divorced, woman abusing, alcohol and drug addict, while at the same time show almost no sympathy for a young woman, raised by jacked-up, addict parents with dollar signs in their eyes. Seriously, in some ways, Lindsay Lohan never had a chance. Look, now don’t get me wrong, I’m no Lindsay fan. Still, I’m curious as to why Charlie Sheen gets a free pass and Lindsay […]Read On »

Blu-ray Review: VAMPIRE CIRCUS Blu-ray/DVD combo

VAMPIRE CIRCUS - Blu-ray | ©2011 Synapse Films

Cast: Adrienne Corri, Laurence Payne, Thorley Walters, John Moulder-Brown, Lynne Frederick, Anthony Corlan, David Prowse Writer: Judson Kinberg Director: Robert Young Distributor: Synapse Films Suggested Retail Price: $29.95 It’s a shame that British production company Hammer Films hasn’t received its due with more special re-releases on Blu-ray and DVD. Movies have certainly come out (Anchor Bay did a nice job in the early days of DVD), but rarely does Hammer get the deluxe treatment it deserves. Thankfully, the recent Blu-ray/DVD combo of VAMPIRE CIRCUS remedies some of that as Synapse Films takes this classic circus horror film and delivers an […]Read On »
