Exclusive Interview: The scoop on 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY from executive producer Howard Gordon

24 - SEASON 8 - THE COMPLETE FINAL SEASON DVD | ©2010 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment

Producer/writer Howard Gordon is a very busy man, what with last year’s truckload of Emmys for the first season of Showtime’s HOMELAND, an even bigger slate of nominations for the second season of HOMELAND, the series TYRANT in development at FX and LEGENDS, an espionage series starring Sean Bean, at TNT. This last is likely why Gordon is at TNT’s twenty-fifth anniversary party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We talked with Gordon about all his projects (see our upcoming separate interview), but while we’re at it, we got an update on next year’s anticipated mini-season of 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY […]Read On »

In SHARKNADO, Syfy Channel’s descriptively-titled movie about a tornado that deposits sharks and flooding all over Los Angeles, Jaason Simmons plays Baz, who helps Ian Ziering’s character Fin search for his wife and family during the catastrophe. Simmons is no stranger to water – he played lifeguard Logan Fowler for forty-eight episodes of BAYWATCH – and he’s also done horror (THE DEVIL’S TATTOO, BLOODY MARY), but he says SHARKNADO is a first for him on many fronts. JAASON SIMMONS: I’ve never played a light character before. People are always casting me as rapists. This is the first time I’ve ever […]Read On »

The cast of SIBERIA | (c) 2013 NBC

The focus of the second episode was the fallout over the death of […]Read On »

Tara Reid in SHARKNADO | ©2013 SyfySharknado - 2013

SHARKNADO, as its title suggests, is a movie about a massive tornado that sweeps up an enormous quantity of sharks in its wake, then repeatedly dumps water and big toothy fish on an unprepared Los Angeles. The film, produced by Asylum, premieres on Syfy Channel tonight at 9 PM, with a Blu-ray and DVD release on September 3. Director Anthony C. Ferrante and leading lady Tara Reid participated in a conference call to discuss their work on the unusual creature feature. TV Movie Review: SHARKNADO

Stars: Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, Jaason Simmons, Aubrey Peeples, Chuck Hittinger, John Heard Writer: Thunder Levin Director: Anthony C. Ferrante Network: Syfy Channel Original Airdate: Thursday, July 11 @ 9 PM [Full disclosure, SHARKNADO is directed by Assignment X  founder Anthony C. Ferrante, but he allowed us to review the film anyway] Important fact: sharks are in fact relatively delicate creatures that would not survive oxygen deprivation, chlorine, the Los Angeles sewage system or other environmental disruptions depicted here; to the extent they did survive, they would be fighting to breathe, not trying to consume everything in sight.
