After watching THE X FACTOR host Steve Jones struggle throughout the first season, it became quite clear that Ryan Seacrest is a natural when it comes to handling contestants, overruns and political correctness on AMERICAN IDOL. For awhile, it looked like Fox and GLEE co-creator Ryan Murphy were going to spin-off the show with its graduating characters next season. At today’s Fox TCA press session, Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says those plans have been scrapped. “We are graduating the characters, but Ryan and the guys have come up with a cool idea,” says Reilly. “It’s led to a very interesting idea for something cool to dig into next season. Breaking News: Kiefer Sutherland says 24 movie will shoot this Spring

Fans of 24 have been waiting patiently for two years for the official greenlight of a movie based on the hit Fox series 24 and at today’s Fox TCA press session to promote his new Fox series TOUCH, Sutherland confirmed that the movie is now on the fast track. “Hopefully we’ll be shooting end of April, beginning of May,” says Sutherland.
