MAJOR CRIMES, the spin-off from THE CLOSER, has its second-season midseason break last night. Mary McDonnell reprises the role she created on THE CLOSER as LAPD Captain Sharon Raydor. There is another woman on Raydor’s squad, young Detective Amy Sykes, played by Kearran Giovanni. Giovanni, who was born in Louisiana and Texas, is primarily known as a Broadway musical theatre actress.
