Summit Entertainment held a special Los Angeles screening of NOW YOU SEE ME on May 23rd at the ArcLight Hollywood. Although it was just a screening the fans still came out to get autographs and pictures and screamed when they saw the stars. Paramount Pictures recently held the Los Angeles Premiere of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The TCL Chinese, where normally premieres are held is shut down for the summer for remodeling. Closing Hollywood Boulevard from Highland to Orange to accommodate the fans for this next installment in the STAR TREK Universe. Fans were everywhere hanging over the railings in the Hollywood/Highland Complex, besides in the bleachers overlooking the gray carpet and on both sides of the street. GAME OF THRONES started its third season on March 31st. In Syfy’s new series DEFIANCE, in its first season Monday nights at 9 and already renewed for a second season, a spaceship carrying seven different alien races, collectively known as the Votan, crashed to Earth and caused massive changes in the landscape. Filmmaker Steven Soderbergh has long been interested in the late pianist Liberace as a potential subject for a film. When Scott Thorson, who was Liberace’s lover for six years, wrote a book (with Alex Thorliefson) about their relationship, Soderbergh felt he had the spine of his story. The result is BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, which premieres Sunday night, May 26, on HBO at 9 PM.
