Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment held the Los Angeles Premiere of PRISONERS on September 12th at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills. PRISONERS  has an A-list cast, which includes an Oscar Winner, Oscar nominees and a Golden Globe nominee. Hallmark Channel’s new telefilm THE WATSONS GO TO BIRMINGHAM, which premieres Friday, September 20 at 8 PM, is based on the Newbury Medal Award-winning novel by Christopher Paul Curtis. The SHARKNADO cast and creators (and the Shark) took over Dark Delicacies Bookstore in Burbank on September 8th for a DVD signing release for the SyFy Channel’s hit movie. Signing was Director Anthony C. Ferrante, Writer Thunder Levin. Joining them were stars: Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, Cassie Scerbo, Jaason Simmons, John Heard, and Robbie Rist. News: 2013 Toronto International Film Festival Award Winners

After 11 days, more than 300 films, 4,743 industry delegates, 180 guest speakers, 57 panels and countless fans the 38th Toronto International Film Festival ended on September 15th. Below are a select number of awards that were given out. BLACKBERRY® PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS This year marked the 36th year that Toronto audiences were able to cast a ballot for their favourite Festival film, with the BlackBerry® People’s Choice Award. This year’s award goes to Steve McQueen for 12 YEARS A SLAVE. First runner up: Stephen Frears’ PHILOMENA. Second runner up: Denis Villeneuve’s PRISONERS.
