On September 4th CBS Films held the Los Angeles Premiere of THE WORDS at the ArcLight Hollywood. It was a small premiere with the fans at the end of the carpet that waited patiently to get an autograph and a picture with the stars. Recently Tri Star Pictures’ held the World Premiere of SPARKLE at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Breaking News: BBC America remakes THE MUSKETEERS as a 10-episode series to air in 2014 – TCA 2012

THE THREE MUSKETEERS novel by Alexandre Dumas

At today’s TCA Cable Press Tour, BBC America announced they will be embarking on a co-production with BBC One of MUSKETEERS – a new series written by Adrian Hodges (PRIMEVAL, SURVIVORS). The series will debut in 2014 and is inspired by the classic Alexandre Dumas novel THE THREE MUSKETEERS. Although set in the 17th Century, the series will bring a more contemporary and realistic take on the story of a “trained band of brothers who are assigned to protect King and country” as the press release says. While director Ron Howard has been interested in television for awhile (his shelved adaptation of Stephen King’s THE DARK TOWER was to span both movies and a TV series), he’s now moving his attention to helm a new Showtime series called CONQUEST.
