Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures presented the Los Angeles premiere of PACIFIC RIM, a Legendary Pictures/DDY Production, and a Guillermo del Toro Film on July 9th at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The premiere was in the middle of the street with fans lining the street and the carpet went through the Hollywood and Highland Complex and up to the main stairwell, which fans also lined up to get autographs and photos of the stars as they arrived. We’ve had the Syfy trailer, and now we get the full length, almost Red Band SHARKNADO trailer (courtesy of Machinima who got the exclusive) which makes its debut on the Syfy Channel this Thursday (tomorrow). The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films recently held the 39th Annual Saturn Awards at The Castaway Starlight Ballroom in Burbank. It was a beautiful day and night high in the hills of Burbank. This award show is not televised, and honors a genre that the main award shows generally overlook. The host for the awards was Lance Reddick (FRINGE) and the awards were dedicated to Ray Harryhausen, who passed away May 7, 2013.  Richard Matheson who was to receive The Visionary Award this night, also passed away June 23, 2013. As SHARKNADO continues it forthcoming assault to the small screen courtesy of Syfy making its debut July 11 (check local listings), the interest, for better or worse, continues to expand towards pop culture world domination. The latest tease comes from Hulu which just unleashed a sequence from the film of the Santa Monica Pier being destroyed by the oncoming Sharknado. Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films held the World Premiere of THE LONE RANGER at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland in Anaheim on June 22nd. It was a huge premiere between all the press, fans, guests and the stars of the film. Having two pens for just the photographers, I was in pen A. Finally, after a very long wait, a super short SHARKNADO trailer has finally made its debut. Syfy has released their officially commercial spot for the trailer for the epic new disaster/shark film (check it out below) starring Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, John Heard and Cassie Scerbo which will make its debut on the network on Thursday, July 11 (check local listings for times).
