On July 29th a big party was held by CBS/The CW/Showtime for the Television Critics Annual Summer Press Tour at The Event, which is actually the upper parking lot where the department store Robinson’s/May in Beverly Hills used to be. Mark Strong as Frank Agnew in LOW WINTER SUN - Season 1 | ©2013 AMC/Frank Ockenfels 3

American television frequently remakes series that originated on British television: ALL IN THE FAMILY and THE OFFICE are two of the more successful examples. The crime drama LOW WINTER SUN, set and shot in Detroit, is a remake of the 2006 series of the same name that was set in Edinburgh, Scotland. What makes LOW WINTER SUN unusual is that Mark Strong, who starred in the first version, is recreating his role as Frank Agnew for AMC’s edition, which is airing its first ten-episode season Sunday nights at 10 PM. Frank a police detective who is coerced by a colleague, […]Read On »

WWE and Lionsgate Team up for horror sequel to SEE NO EVIL

WWE Studios | (c) 2013 WWE

Nowadays, WWE is making a slew of movies every year. But back in 2006, SEE NO EVIL was one of its first forays into movie making – trying to transition its wrestlers from just in-ring performers and trying to perhaps jump-start another Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Now, WWE is going back to its roots with a sequel, aptly named SEE NO EVIL 2. The interesting thing here is not that it will […]Read On »
