Stars: Matt Passmore, Kiele Sanchez, Carlos Gómez, Michelle Hurd Writer: Tom Garrigus Director: Gary A. Randall Network: A&E, airs Sunday nights Original Telecast: June 5, 2011 Entering its second season, THE GLADES is A&E’s attempt to capture the breezy, fun-filled style of USA’s signature crime series BURN NOTICE and for the most part it works. THE GLADES is familiar detective series mumbo jumbo, but it is largely kept alive by an engaging performance by Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth. He’s a former Chicago cop, now working for the police in a small town in the Florida Everglades. The Florida attitude […]Read On »

Tyler Posey plays Scott McCall who must deal with the after-effects of getting bit by a werewolf and how to affects his relationships with his friends, family and school mates. Fox in makeup that looked more simian than lupine when he wolfed out, adorable or incredibly annoying, just forget the whole thing when it comes to MTV’s TEEN WOLF. The two share a title, the basic concept of a teenaged male werewolf and presumably a lot of legal agreements. That’s it. MTV’s TEEN WOLF fits somewhere in […]Read On »

CD review: CAMELOT original TV soundtrack

CAMELOT original soundtrack | ©2011 Varese Sarabande Records

Where the music of King Arthur tends to sweep in like a massively noble symphony on steeds, scoring brothers-in-arms Mychael and Jeff Danna do well by playing their leader as a subtler, second coming for another Showtime series that sexes up mythic history, this time in the realm of CAMELOT. It’s an intriguing setting for a world music approach that creates its sorcery with Indian ragas, exotic percussion, horns and Celtic rhythms, an approach that’s as timeless as it is lyrical. While the Dannas might not have the magic to get the kind of trumpeting orchestral firepower afforded to the […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Jeff Davis gets bitten by MTV’s TEEN WOLF – Part 1

Tyler Posey in TEEN WOLF - Season 1|©2011 MTV

When CRIMINAL MINDS creator Jeff Davis was approached by MTV to reboot the 1980s comedy TEEN WOLF, he was a bit hesitant until he found out they wanted something more along the lines of the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER TV series than a sitcom with a laugh track. “MTV was always pushing us to go edgier,” Davis admits. “They gave us a mandate, that the writers turned into the three words we live by – Sexy, Scary and surprising. For us that meant plenty of twists and turns, lots of romance, a little bit of humor and plenty of scares. […]Read On »

TV Review: SMALLVILLE – Season 10 – “Shield”

Keri Lynn Pratt in SMALLVILLE - Season 10 - "Shield" | ©2010 The CW/Jack Rowand

Starring: Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Justin Hartley, Cassidy Freeman Writer: Jordan Hawley Director: Glen Winter Network: The CW, airs Friday nights Original Telecast:  October 2, 2010 EDITOR’S NOTE: Even though SMALLVILLE is over, ASSIGNMENT X missed a few episodes during Season 10 and will be filling in the reviews during the summer as The CW re-airs Season 10. After a strong Season 10 premiere, SMALLVILLE gets a little small (and a little too cheesy) with “Shield.” With Lois (Erica Durance) off to Egypt to serve on the Daily Planet’s foreign desk, Clark (Tom Welling) is playing the dutiful guy and […]Read On »

Why do celebrities keep taking naked photos of themselves? They know they are going to get leaked on to the Internet, right? Considering how many celebrities’ naked photos and sex tapes have been “leaked,” why even risk it? “Yes, I know it happens to celebrities all the time, but it won’t happen to me [click].” I don’t take naked photos of myself for fear that they would be leaked on to the Internet, and I’m not famous, and no one wants to see me naked. If someone other than my husband wants to see me naked then they are going […]Read On »
