In NBC’s new supernatural procedural GRIMM, which airs Fridays at 9 PM, David Giuntoli plays Nick Burkhardt, who assumes he’s an ordinary police officer until he discovers that he’s actually a Grimm, descended from the brothers who wrote the Grimm fairy tales. Turns out the original Grimm siblings were writing about real entities and incidents. Their heirs have the ability to see the true inhuman nature of creatures who blend into the real world, disguised as regular humans. The basic premise of GRIMM was crafted by producing partners Sean Hayes (yes, the actor from WILL AND GRACE) and Todd Milliner. […]Read On »

NBC’s CHUCK, now in its fifth season in its new timeslot on Fridays at 8 PM, is the brainchild of creators/executive producers Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz. The title character, played by Zachary Levi, started out as a nerdy employee at the Buy More who was transformed into an inexperienced super spy when his brain became filled with the Intersect, a wealth of espionage knowledge that also (at the end of Season Two) included fighting skills. Over the years, Chuck fell in love with and finally married his spy handler Sarah, played by Yvonne Strahovski, and befriended grumpy fellow spy […]Read On »

The Stereo Hogzz are eliminated on THE X FACTOR - Season 1 - "The Top 11 Perform" | ©2011 Fox/Ray Mickshaw

The Top 11 went down to 10 last night on THE X FACTOR which saw the second “group” eliminated from the talent competition. Last week, Intensity went home, and this week two groups landed in the bottom two – The Stereo Hogzz and Lakoda Rayne. This brings up the issue of whether or not audiences HATE groups in these kind of competition or if they’re severely punishing Paula Abdul who is managing the groups. Ironically enough, both The Stereo Hogzz and Lakoda Rayne are by far better than some of the solo performers on the show. And both could be […]Read On »

Thyne, Tamara Taylor, John Francis Daley, Michael Grant Terry Writer: Stephen Nathan Director: Ian Toynton Network: Fox, Thursdays @ 9 PM Airdate: November 3, 2011 Season 7 has a nice sturdy ring to it. Relatively few TV shows last this long. BONES enters this hallowed territory with the charm of its banter and character dynamics very much intact. The mystery of the week winds up feeling more peripheral than usual, but that’s not why most viewers tune in to BONES in the first place. Pleasingly little has changed in the dynamics between […]Read On »

GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK movie poster | ©American Cinema Releasing

While many people are excited by the new product on display at 2011’s American Film Market, sometimes it’s classic titles making a comeback that gain considerable buzz. Case in point Gorilla Pictures which recently made a deal to get three classic Chuck Norris films back into distribution after languishing in the vaults for many years. GOOD GUYS WEAR BLACK, THE OCTAGON and A FORCE OF ONE are the early 1980s classics that put Norris on the map, and Gorilla has made a five-picture Action Pack (including FORCE: FIVE and ACAPULCO GOLD – two additional films not starring Norris) that they’ve […]Read On »

Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it helps when your name is Brian De Palma – that is Brian J. De Palma. The independent filmmaker was at the American Film Market 2011 pre-selling his film ESCAPING THE RUSH and says that having a similar name to CARRIE director Brian De Palma hasn’t totally hurt him over the years. “It sometimes gets people on the phone or they think it’s him joking around,” says De Palma. “I don’t know if it hurts or helps at all – it’s just a talking point sometimes.” Ten minutes of ESCAPING THE RUSH is complete and it […]Read On »
