THE HOUSE I LIVE IN, filmmaker Eugene Jarecki’s documentary about the “war on drugs” in the United States, won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The film posits that criminalizing drugs does nothing to stop the drug trade and indeed may be making it worse; it is inarguably filling up prisons beyond capacity. Robert Nathan, making his feature directorial debut, and his writing/producing partner Lukas Kendall, have imagined a number of things that could easily go wrong in this scenario. On FX’s JUSTIFIED, which has its fourth-season finale Tuesday at 10 PM, Timothy Olyphant’s Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens gets to do most of the flashy stuff – shooting people, romancing women, trying to outsmart his old frenemy and current Harlan County crime boss Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins).
