In Syfy’s series 12 MONKEYS, which has its first-season finale Friday, April 10 at 10 PM and will be back next year with Season 2, Aaron Stanford stars as James Cole, who travels from a plague-devastated 2040 back to 2015. In the 1995 feature film TWELVE MONKEYS, adapted from the French short film LA JETEE, the past could only be observed. However, in the television version, adapted by Travis Fickett and Terry Matalas, time can be changed, and Cole hopes to prevent the apocalypse with the help of initially skeptical 2015 virologist Dr. Cassandra Railly, played by Amanda Schull. Aaron Stanford stars as James Cole in SyFy's 12 MONKEYS | © 2015 Ben Mark Holzberg/Syfy

In Syfy’s 12 MONKEYS, Fridays at 9 PM, a plague wipes out humanity in 2015. Almost three decades later, unreliable time travel has been invented, and a small group of scientists send James Cole (Aaron Stanford) into the past to try to prevent the outbreak from happening. Cole teams up in the present with Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull). This, at least initially, is of great alarm to Railly’s ex-fiancé Aaron Marker, played by Noah Bean. Bean previously worked with 12 MONKEYS co-creators Travis Fickett and Terry Matalas (the TV version is based in part on an original work by […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Shane West is after the femme of NIKITA

Shane West in NIKITA - Season 1 - "Resistance" | ©2010 The CW/Ben Mark Holzberg

If the title of the CW’s NIKITA, airing Thursdays at 9 PM, sounds a bit familiar, that’s because it started life as the 1990 French feature film LA FEMME NIKITA, which was remade in English as the 1993 POINT OF NO RETURN, then turned into a TV series that ran from 1997-2001. The series concerned a young woman coerced into being a ferociously effective assassin for a mysterious group. The new NIKITA is a sequel of sorts, with Nikita, played by Maggie Q, having forcefully parted ways with her erstwhile employers and now seeking to bring their entire operation down. […]Read On »
