Cast: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker, Bill Paxton Writer: Jeffrey Bell Director: Roxann Dawson Network: Airs on ABC Tuesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: May 6, 2014 So the penultimate episode of the first season of MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD was a last minute attempt to tie all the loose ends together before what ABC has promised to be an “explosive” season finale to the show. Obviously, this show has gone through a lot of changes and various plotlines during the course of a very tumultuous first season so an episode such […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: J. August Richards on MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Part 1

Viewers of ABC’s MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD, in its first season Tuesdays at 8 PM, were dealt a huge shock with the episode “Turn, Turn, Turn.” Airing just after the theatrical release of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, it dealt (like SOLDIER) with the revelation that S.H.I.E.L.D. had from its inception been infiltrated by the proto-Nazi organization HYDRA, which has now revealed itself and is wreaking havoc. This is terrible for the series regulars – team leader Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Skye (Chloe Bennet), who’ve […]Read On »

TV Review: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Season 1 – “The Only Light in the Darkness”

Agent Ward (Brett Dalton) takes a lie detector on AGENTS OF SHIELD | © 2014 ABC/Justin Lubin

Cast: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker Director:Vincent Misiano Network: Airs on ABC Tuesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: April 22, 2014 Well, it certainly seems that MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD has a direction now in terms of the entire mythology of the show (or at least this season) but they are dragging their heels to the finish line as it was shown in “The Light in the Darkness.” Now as cool as it is to think that this would just lead to numerous awesome stories involving the characters we have grown to […]Read On »

TV Review: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Season 1 – “Providence”

Bill Paxton as John Garrett on AGENTS OF SHIELD | © 2014 ABC/Justin Lubin

Cast: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker Director: Milan Cheylov Network: Airs on ABC Tuesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: April 15, 2014 Warning there are probably spoilers to CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLIDER inside. Obviously a lot has happened over the course of the last few episodes of MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD. There was the whole Hydra taking over thing and the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a result, Nick Fury is dead (presumably), Agent Ward (Brett Dalton) has revealed his true self as a Hydra agent and the rest of Agent Coulson’s […]Read On »

TV REVIEW: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Season 1 – “Turn, Turn, Turn”

Ming-Na Wen stars as Agent May in AGENTS OF SHIELD | © 2014 ABC/Kelsey McNeal

Cast: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker Writer: Shalisha Francis Director: John Terlesky Network: Airs on ABC Tuesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: March 11, 2014 Warning: Spoilers ahead. It seems that MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD debuted at the wrong time. Had the series debuted in the mid-season and actually well-timed with what happened in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER then maybe it wouldn’t have lost the vast number of viewers it has over the course of the season. You see, the last three episodes of AOS have been the best all year. […]Read On »

TV REVIEW: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Season 1 – “Yes Men”

Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) guest stars on Marvel's Agents of Shield episode "Yes Men" | © 2014 Kelsey McNeal/ABC

Cast: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker Writer: Shalisha Francis Director: John Terlesky Network: Airs on ABC Tuesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: March 11, 2014 Well it took seeing some crazy half alien being used as a miracle cure drug source (as well as perhaps, you know, dying and being brought back to life) in order for Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) to get the idea that maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. aren’t necessarily the good guys here. MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD has taken a long time to get here – like 14 episodes too long […]Read On »

In “T.A.H.I.T.I.”, the race is on to find a way to save her after the doctors inform Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) that she won’t make it. Exclusive Interview with MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD star Elizabeth Henstridge

Elizabeth Henstridge as Simmons in MARVELS AGENTS OF SHIELD | © 2014 ABC/Justin Lubin

In MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD, on ABC Tuesdays at 8 PM, Elizabeth Henstridge plays brilliant bio-scientist Jemma Simmons, who works so closely with fellow scientist and technological whiz Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) that they’re often jointly referred to as “FitzSimmons.” While everyone has had big moments on the show created by Joss Whedon & Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, so far the episode “F.Z.Z.T.” has provided the most drama for Henstridge’s Simmons. Infected with a lethal alien virus, Simmons jumps off the team’s plane while it’s in flight, preferring to die alone than risk her comrades becoming ill and/or […]Read On »

Coulson was tragically killed by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in writer/director Joss Whedon’s THE AVENGERS, but he’s back as the team leader on ABC’s AGENTS OF SHIELD, Tuesdays at 8 PM. As viewers of the TV show, created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, learned in the episode “The Magical Place,” Coulson’s resurrection was agonizing, with consequences […]Read On »

TV Review: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Season 1 – “The Magical Place”

How many actually thought that something bad happened to Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) on this week’s AGENTS OF SHIELD episode and S.H.I.E.L.D. was covering up exactly what happened? Yeah, pretty much everyone. So when we were promised in “The Magical Place” that we would get the big reveal about what went down, I think everyone was expecting to learn just what happened […]Read On »
