Tyler Posey in TEEN WOLF - Season 1 | ©2011 MTV

While The CW has made its mark with SUPERNATURAL and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and found great success with their genre-bending formulas, they really haven’t proven to be the heir to the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER teen angst throne that Joss Whedon created so expertly on that landmark series. Well, there’s a good chance MTV’s TEEN WOLF could be the heir apparent. Based on the the horrendous (but cult) 1985 film starring Michael J. Fox, the new genre series owes more to BUFFY than that silly retro comedy. Tyler Posey is Scott McCall, an average high school student who is bitten […]Read On »

DVD Movie Review: THE RESIDENT

Rating: R Stars: Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lee Pace, Christopher Lee, Aunjanue Ellis Writers: Antti Jokinen & Robert Orr Director: Antti Jokinen Distributor: Image Entertainment Release Date: March 29, 2011 Hammer Films is back in business, and THE RESIDENT is true to that venerable studio’s old form, even including a supporting turn from that company’s biggest star, Christopher Lee. These are probably good reasons to see THE RESIDENT, which hews a little too closely to the old days in style. Michael Chicklis in NO ORDINARY FAMILY - Season 1 | ©2010 ABC/Bob D'Amico

As for family father Jim, played by Michael Chiklis, he is suddenly strong enough to toss a car, muscular enough to leap on top of a building and hardy enough to stop bullets. Chiklis has been involved in the superhero genre before, playing Ben Grimm/Thing in the two big screen adaptations of  FANTASTIC FOUR. On television, he spent five years as […]Read On »

THE GOOD WIFE’s Julianna Marguiles takes time off the set to promote her hit drama’s second season. Playing a lawyer, says Marguiles, 44, isn’t unlike that of portraying a doctor on ER. Things happen very quickly, sometimes in a ridiculously short period of time, all for the sake of good drama. TAKE 1 On how, unlike in real life, things happen very quickly on TV… “Well, it has to because it’s only a 42-minute show,” says Marguiles. ” I mean, my husband is a lawyer, and the first time he saw (the show) — he wasn’t a big television watcher.  […]Read On »
