WARCRAFT highlights Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Releases for Sept. 27, 2016

WARCRAFT | © 2016 Universal Home Entertainment

Movies: WARCRAFT – When a movie gets so universally panned by critics and fans alike, you go into it with very low expectations. That probably helped in my viewing of WARCRAFT because shockingly I actually found it not half bad. Yeah, the plot is basic and rambling with dialog and nonsensical elements along with literally nothing being explained other than bad orcs, good humans. But the special effects, which looked atrocious in the trailers, holds up alright and the action sequences are pretty good and at times brutal. But something had to make this become the highest grossing video […]Read On »

LUKE CAGE: Cheo Hodari Coker and Mike Colter power fists onto Netflix – Interview

LUKE PAGE poster | ©2016 Netflix

Luke Cage, as played by Mike Colter, was introduced last year on Netflix’s MARVEL’S JESSICA JONES. The hero with impenetrable epidermis seemed an ideal romantic match for Krysten Ritter’s super-strong heroine – until Luke found out that Jessica was (while brainwashed) responsible for the death of his beloved wife. Now Colter and Luke have the title in MARVEL’S LUKE CAGE, which debuts its entire thirteen-episode first season on Netflix Friday, September 30. Luke has returned to Harlem and wants to keep a low profile, but a brewing gang war may make that impossible. Executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker (a writer/producer […]Read On »

POP SHOW PODCAST | © 2016 AssignmentX

Hi again, the POP SHOW PODCAST starring Anthony C. Ferrante is back after a bit of a hiatus which Anthony talks about in the podcast. As usual, Anthony has a bit of trouble staying on topic and we end up delving deep into the realm of fast food joints and the latest incarnations they are doing to attract customers. Ryan Mitchelle also has been off for an extended hiatus and his opening to the podcast shows a bit of rust as he mistakenly refers to Sonia Mansfield as “Sarah” something we won’t let him forget the entire podcast (maybe ever?). Dorking Out Show | © 2016 Chris Smith/Sonia Mansfield

Hey there, dorks. In this week’s episode we review the new western THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt. Is it as good as the original 1960 THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN? Is the 1960 version as good as Akira Kurosawa’s SEVEN SAMURAI from 1954? We talk about that, and the current state of westerns in Hollywood. In our second segment, we do a status check on two of our favorite shows of all-time THE SIMPSONS and SOUTH PARK. THE SIMPSONS just kicked off its 28th (!) season on Sunday, and “South Park” launched its 20th season two weeks ago.  […]Read On »
