WARCRAFT highlights Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Releases for Sept. 27, 2016

WARCRAFT | © 2016 Universal Home Entertainment

Movies: WARCRAFT – When a movie gets so universally panned by critics and fans alike, you go into it with very low expectations. That probably helped in my viewing of WARCRAFT because shockingly I actually found it not half bad. Yeah, the plot is basic and rambling with dialog and nonsensical elements along with literally nothing being explained other than bad orcs, good humans. But the special effects, which looked atrocious in the trailers, holds up alright and the action sequences are pretty good and at times brutal. But something had to make this become the highest grossing video […]Read On »

SULLY: Musicians Christian Jacob and Tierney Sutton bring soulful jazz to new Clint Eastwood film

SULLY soundtrack | ©2016 Varese Sarabande Records

Catastrophe and American heroism have long been passengers together in Hollywood, as square-jawed, macho men save the chosen few with the aid of scores as fiery as their commanding voices. But sometimes real life miraculously allows everyone involved in a disaster to not only survive, but to become a movie whose savior is as resonantly soft-spoken as his score. Such is the astonishing case to be seen, and heard in filmmaker Clint Eastwood’s gripping, and moving dramatization of “The Miracle on the Hudson,” when white-haired pilot Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger somehow managed to land U.S. Airway Flight 1549 in New York […]Read On »

THE GOOD PLACE: Director Drew Goddard chats new NBC comedy – interview

THE GOOD PLACE key art | ©2016 NBC

THE GOOD PLACE, per NBC’s new Thursday-night comedy – which has a special premiere on Monday, September 19 – is where you go after death if you’ve been a wonderful person. Turns out that, in life, humans are graded by deed, and only the top percentage make it here. How good is the good place? So good that Ted Danson in his most kindly mode plays Michael, the being in charge. Kristen Bell plays Eleanor Shellstrop, who actually wasn’t so good while alive. She’s here through a clerical error, but now desperately trying to be good so no one finds […]Read On »
