Eric Winter was brought to the attention of the WITCHES OF EAST END producers, according to Lifetime executive vice-president and general manager Rob Sharenow, because the actor attended a Christmas party with his wife Rosalyn Sanchez, who is a regular on Lifetime’s DEVIOUS MAIDS. Sharenow tells the press, “All the Lifetime women thought he was so hot that we had to have him on a show. So there you go.” Has Winter heard this explanation for how he wound up on WITCHES? “I pitched that introduction,” Winters jokes. “I found out about it actually a little bit earlier today. Very […]Read On »

Michael Rowe in ARROW - Season 2 - "Keep Your Enemies Closer" | ©2013 The CW/Diyah Pera

Stars:  Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Paul Blackthorne, Susanna Thompson, Willa Holland, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Manu Bennett, Colton Haynes, Celina Jade, Summer Glau, Caity Lotz, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Kevin Alejandro Writer: Ben Sokolowski & Beth Schwartz Director:  Guy Bee Network: The CW, airs Wednesday Nights Original Telecast: November 13, 2013 My criticisms of ARROW since this season began, (nay, since this series began), have fallen into two general categories.  They are, invariably: “X is too dark to belong in a TV show based on a comic book” or “Y involves too much comic book ridiculousness to belong in a TV […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: David Bradley on AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE AND TIME and being the first Who – PART 1

AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE AND TIME | ©2013 BBCAmerica

British actor David Bradley has just hit a fandom trifecta (there isn’t a the fandom trifecta – there will never be just three): he was the unhappily non-magical custodian Filch in the HARRY POTTER films, he continues as the indelible Walder Frey, host of the Red Wedding, on HBO’s GAME OF THRONES, and now he’s part of the DOCTOR WHO universe. Once upon a time, hard as it may be to recall and longer ago than many Whovians have been alive, DOCTOR WHO quite simply did not exist. It was brought into being in 1963 by a team including producer […]Read On »

Charlie (Tracy Spiradakos) fights the Patriots in REVOLUTION "Everyone Says I Love You" | (c) 2013 Felicia Graham/NBC

Cast: Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Elizabeth Mitchell, Zak Orth, David Lyons, Giancarlo Esposito, Stephen Collins Writer: Paul Grellong Director: Steve Boyum Network: Airs on NBC, Wednesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: Nov. 20, 2013 How many hands believe that Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) is the actual daughter of Miles (Billy Burke) and not Rachel’s (Elizabeth Mitchell) husband from the first season of REVOLUTION? It sure seems like it could be a possibility given the latest flashback was six years prior to the black out. If we add the 15 years after the blackout where the series currently takes place, Charlie is […]Read On »

Sophie Lowe in ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND | ©2013 ABC/Bob D'Amico

ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND, on ABC Thursdays at 8 PM, takes place in the same overall universe as ONCE UPON A TIME, but it’s very much its own story. Created by ONCE inventors Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, along with Zack Estrin and Jane Espenson, WONDERLAND gives us an Alice, played by Sophie Lowe as a young woman, who has found true love in Wonderland with Cyrus (Peter Gadiot), the Genie of the Lamp. When Alice wrongly believed she’d seen Cyrus die, she went back to her version of England, where doctors are threatening to lobotomize her into […]Read On »

TV Review: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD – Season 1 – “The Well”

A Norwegian anarchist fights for an Asgardian staff in MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD "The Well" | (c) 2013 ABC/Ron Tom

Cast: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker Writer: Monica Owusu-Breen Director: Jonathan Frakes Network: Airs on ABC Tuesdays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: Nov. 5, 2013 Funny that the opening segment of this week’s MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD had more superheroes in it than the entirety of the series thus far – and it was all footage from past and current films (namely THOR and THOR: THE DARK WORLD). That’s a sad state for a show that exists in the Marvel universe filled with … wait for it. Come closer. No, closer. FREAKING […]Read On »

TV Review: ALMOST HUMAN – Season 1 – “Pilot” – Season Premiere

Karl Urban stars in ALMOST HUMAN "Pilot" | (c) 2013 Liane Hentscher/FOX

Cast: Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook Writer: J.H. Wyman Director: Brad Anderson Network: Airs on Fox, Mondays @ 8 p.m. Original Telecast: Nov. 17, 2013 ALMOST HUMAN plays very much like a modern BLADE RUNNER in a variety of ways. It is the future where man and machine are intertwined like never before. There are synthetics that exist in our daily lives – this time, however, as part of the police force rather than outlaws. Crime is at an all time high. There is a blend of cultures on the streets. The drama doesn’t play […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD producers Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb speak

Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson in AGENTS OF SHIELD | (c) 2013 ABC/Justin Lubin

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD, ABC Tuesday nights at 8 PM, deals with the team of non-superpowered folks who assist, investigate and otherwise deal with things pertaining to superheroes in the universe of THE AVENGERS. The series, created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, brings back Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), somehow resurrected – we don’t know quite how yet, but it’s clear Coulson himself has been misled – after his death in AVENGERS as the team leader. Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) is the most experienced agent after Coulson, Ward (Brett Dalton) is muscle, Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and […]Read On »
