The end of Season 9 of Fox’s BONES saw the team in crisis, with FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz, gravely wounded and arrested for murder after he killed assassins who were posing as legitimate law enforcement. When executive producer Sarah Timberman first optioned Thomas Maier’s nonfiction book MASTERS OF SEX, a biography of sex research pioneers William Masters and Virginia Johnson, she knew the material had potential. Timberman partnered with writer/fellow executive producer Michelle Ashford, who developed the work as a television series, which premiered on Showtime last season, starring Michael Sheen as Masters and Lizzy Caplan as  Johnson.
