A six-part science-fiction series (you can check out the first episode below), RCVR follows the agents of an organization called Sigma investigating strange UFO phenomenon for their own darker purposes. Movie Review: ABDUCTION

ABDUCTION movie poster | ©2011 Lionsgate

Rating: PG-13 Stars: Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello, Sigourney Weaver, Denzel Whitaker, Michael Nyqvist Writer: Shawn Christensen Director: John Singleton Distributor: Lionsgate Release Date: September 23, 2011 ABDUCTION feels so much like an adaptation of a young adult novel that it’s surprising to see that the script is an original (okay, according to the production notes, it’s based on an un-screen-credited idea by executive producer Jeremy Bell) by Shawn Christensen. Indeed, Christensen turns the original premise, and the title, into something of a red herring. There’s a sense of familiarity about the film, but it’s […]Read On »

With FRINGE heading into Season 4, ASSIGNMENT X recently spoke with executive producer J.H. Wyman about what to expect with the series return (it premieres tonight on Fox). Thankfully, he doesn’t offer any huge spoilers, but hinted at the direction the series will be going in with the absence of now non-existent Peter (Joshua Jackson) weighing heavily on Walter (John Noble) and Olivia (Anna Torv) as they continue to explore Fringe science (both Over Here and Over There). Here’s what he had to say. ASSIGNMENT X: It’s a given that Peter will be back, correct? J.H. WYMAN: You’re going to […]Read On »

Steve Jones, Nicole Sherzinger, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and L.A. Reid in THE X FACTOR - Season 1 | ©2011 Fox/

Cast: Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Antonio Reid, Cheryl Cole, Nicole Scherzinger Network: Fox, airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays Original Telecast: Sept. 21, 2011 I’ve got a funny feeling going here … Simon Cowell (and his too-tight shirts and new eyeliner) and Paul Abdul (and her crying and weird clapping) doing a music competition/reality show. A bunch of talented singers and a bunch of crazies and losers. Similar audition stories and a pompous host that is more annoying than anything else. But wait … it’s still hot outside? So yeah there are a little too many familiarities to THE X FACTOR […]Read On »

Pauley Perrette just started her ninth season as crime lab tech extraordinaire Abby Sciuto on NCIS, and while at CBS’s North Hollywood studios after a press event regarding the TV industry’s use of Twitter,  she says she disliked the concept of online social networking until she found out how it could be used. “This women and children’s shelter in Sylmar that is very close to my heart was closing,” says Perrette. “We knew [it would take] one million six [to keep it open]. Interview: Lily Tomlin gets WEB THERAPY and enlists for a stint on NCIS

Lily Tomlin on WEB THERAPY - Season 1 | ©2011 SHOWTIME

Showtime’s dark comedy series WEB THERAPY, which just wrapped up its first season on SHOWTIME, started life (appropriately enough) on the Web in 2008 before making the jump to premium cable. The show deals with Fiona Wallice, played by series co-creator Lisa Kudrow, who has re-invented herself as a therapist who does sessions in short bursts over the Internet. Alas, Fiona is a terrible listener and her advice is generally insensitive and inappropriate. What would make someone behave the way Fiona does? Well, we get some clues from her mother Putsy Hodge, who is played by multi-award-winning actress Lily Tomlin. […]Read On »

Okay, it’s a gimme that Beckett is going to pull through – kinda hard to continue the series if she didn’t. But there was Castle’s declaration of love as he held her in his arms as she slowly passed out. And that kind of got us here […]Read On »
