We’re just past the half way point for the 38th annual Toronto International Film Festival and its time to take stock. Here’s the countdown… (or is that count up?) 0: Number of personal letters Charles Dickens (Ralph Fiennes) kept from his affair with an underage girl in THE INVISIBLE WOMAN. 2: Number of big buzz films so far. Interview: Katey Sagal on SONS OF ANARCHY Season 6

Season 6 of SONS OF ANARCHY, the motorcycle club/crime drama created by Kurt Sutter, comes roaring back onto FX this week. Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) is currently running SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Originals). He’s pleased that former SAMCRO chief Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman), who is also Jax’s stepfather, is presently behind bars; unfortunately, Jax’s wife Tara (Maggie Siff) is also in jail. For its first four seasons, THE LEAGUE, the half-hour comedy created by Jackie and Jeff Schaffer, was a staple for FX Network. Now FX is moving THE LEAGUE to its new outlet FXX for the show’s fifth season, which debuted Wednesday September 4 at 10:30 PM, following fellow FX transfer IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, which is now on FXX Wednesdays at 10 PM. In AMC’s LOW WINTER SUN, Sundays at 10 PM, Lennie James plays Detroit police detective Joe Geddes, who persuades fellow homicide investigator Frank Agnew (Mark Strong) to help murder Joe’s detective partner. An attempt to make the death look like a suicide backfires, and there turns out to be a second dead body in the trunk of the victim’s car. In the annals of ass-monster movies, BAD MILO comes across as a terrific rush – pardon the unavoidable metaphors.
