In CAROL’S SECOND ACT, now in its first season on Thursdays on CBS, Kyle MacLachlan plays Dr. Stephen Frost, boss of the novice doctors who include Patricia Heaton’s title character. Stephen is relatively laid-back, in contrast with his taskmaster colleague Dr. Maya Jacobs (played by Ito Aghayere).
