Your guide to some of the new releases that are out this week. BOSS BABY While Disney keeps chugging out the animated hits time after time again, the other studios are working to catch up in any possible way with any possible animated feature. Fox has done a pretty good job with its ICE AGE franchise, RIO, EPIC, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, THE CROODS and more. BOSS BABY may not be as influential as these other films or long lasting but kids will still find enjoyment in the story of a place where babies come from and there are […]Read On »

Movie Review: UNFORGETTABLE

UNFORGETTABLE movie poster | ©2017 Warner Bros.

Rating: R Stars: Rosario Dawson, Katherine Heigl, Geoff Stults, Isabella Kai Rice, Cheryl Ladd, Sarah Burns, Whitney Cummings, Simon Kassianides, Robert Ray Wisdom Writer: Christina Hodson Director: Denise Di Novi Distributor: Warner Bros. Release Date: April 21, 2017 There are a few ripped-from-the-headlines aspects to UNFORGETTABLE, but to be specific would perhaps be too spoilery. Suffice to say that certain types of cyber-revenge make Christina Hodson’s screenplay plausible in its broad strokes. With different treatment, the subject matter could have been stomach-churning horror. However, under Denise Di Novi’s direction (the veteran producer’s feature directorial debut), UNFORGETTABLE is one of those […]Read On »

Theoretically, the CBS series UNFORGETTABLE is a procedural about Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), who has the gift of eidetic memory, meaning that she has almost total recall of everything she sees and hears. UNFORGETTABLE is not supposed to be about resurrection, but after canceling the show after its initial 2011-2012 run, CBS decided to make a second season after all. UNFORGETTABLE currently airs Sundays at 9 PM. In UNFORGETTABLE, Carrie is a former NYPD detective who is prompted to rejoin the force by her former colleague and lover, Detective Al Burns, played by Dylan Walsh. In the first season, they’re […]Read On »

When CBS announced its Fall 2012, one notable series was absence – the freshman procedural series UNFORGETTABLE. However, a deal was recently struck for the series to return in the Summer 2013 for a second season and CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler spoke about the summer pick-up at today’s Summer 2012 TCA CBS Press Tour. “It was a tough decision and we had a strong schedule and strong pilots, but he had strong research on the show,” explains Tassler. “We saw this as an opportunity to put it on for next season.” While ratings for summer shows are different from […]Read On »

Robert Lennon Director: Niels Arden Oplev Network: CBS, Tuesdays @ 10 PM Original Telecast: September 20, 2011 Some crime procedural TV series have a genuinely original take on how to tell stories about murder investigations. CD Review: UNFORGETTABLE soundtrack (1100 copies limited edition)

UNFORGETTABLE soundtrack |©2011 Perseverance Records

It seemed only natural that Christopher Young’s talents for melodic darkness would evolve from the satanic strains of his HELLRAISER-ish scores, and put him on the more “respectable” map of the romantic mystery thriller, a genre he was particularly prolific with in the ’90’s in such scores as COPYCAT, DREAM LOVER, HUSH and JENNIFER 8. Perhaps Young’s most interesting, and romantically yearning score during that decade was 1996’s UNFORGETTABLE. John Dahl’s now-cult film saw Ray Liotta using a memory regressing drug to ferret out his wife’s killer, a process whose elements of sci-fi and horror allowed Young to use the […]Read On »

Breaking News: CBS announces its Fall 2011 Schedule

Poppy Montgomery in UNFORGETTABLE - Season 1 | ©2011 CBS/Giovanni Rufino

CBS announced its Fall 2011 schedule today and the network made some pretty aggressive moves to its schedule – all of which will strengthen its weak spots and cushion new shows. Some of the big moves include CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION vacating the Thursday at 9:00 slot its held for years and moving to Wednesday nights at 10:00 pm. Venerable comedy hit RULES OF ENGAGEMENT moves to Saturday nights at 8:00 pm in a grand CBS experiment of opening up more original programming on that graveyard of a night. And THE GOOD WIFE is sent to Sunday nights at 9:00 […]Read On »
