Actor Mitch Pileggi has been in his share of TV classics. He spent nine seasons, and appeared in the two big-screen spin-offs, as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner in THE X-FILES. He’s also had recurring roles on SUPERNATURAL, STARGATE: ATLANTIS and SONS OF ANARCHY, to name but a few of his TV gigs. Now Pileggi is a regular as the antagonistic Harris Ryland on TNT’s resurrection of DALLAS, Mondays at 9 PM. New Line Cinema held a Los Angeles Special Screening of FINAL DESTINATION 5 on August 10th at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Just like all the FINAL DESTINATION movies you realize that no matter where you run, no matter where you hide…you can’t cheat death. Or the big question…can you? This is the fifth installment of the FINAL DESTINATION movies, and the stars from the film walked the “black” carpet on this special night, which included: Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, Jacqueline MacInnes-Wood, Ellen Wroe, P.J. Movie Review: FINAL DESTINATION 5

FINAL DESTINATION 5 movie poster | ©2011 Warner Bros.

Rating: R Stars: Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Courtney B. Vance, Tony Todd Writer: Eric Heisserer, based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick Director: Steven Quale Distributor: Warner Bros. Release Date: August 12, 2011 When the first FINAL DESTINATION came out in 2000, it had both the gift of novelty and inventiveness. The notion of people who “cheat” death only to have it make more grabs at them via bizarre accidents was relatively fresh, and the accidents themselves were wonderfully convoluted, as well as very gory. There was also at least a semblance of plot as the remaining characters […]Read On »

On the set with the FINAL DESTINATION 5 actors Emma Bell and Nicholas D’Agosto – Part 3

Death is nowhere to be seen on the set of FINAL DESTINATION on this chilly December afternoon. In fact, Death is perhaps the cheapest actor working on the long-running franchise, that’s because Death is an unseen force – manipulating the kills in very complex and clever ways, but never showing his (her, its) face. Of course every actor working on this latest installment (once again filmed in 3-D and hitting theaters nationwide tomorrow) is excited by what kind of horribly, gruesome ways Death has engineered for them to die on screen. For Emma Bell and Nicholas D’Agosto, they reveal that […]Read On »

On a cold December afternoon in Vancouver, Canada, production on FINAL DESTINATION 5 (which opens nationwide on Friday) is only a few days away as the filmmakers are busy picking up all the filmic pieces for the film’s stunning major opening set piece. Whereas other FINAL DESTINATION movies have used planes, speedways, roller coasters and the highway as the major threat source, this time out a suspension bridge provides the opening scene mechanism that sets the film’s game play into motion. While production has already shot the real-life pieces of this major puzzle on Vancouver’s Lions Gate Bridge, now it’s […]Read On »

In the latest episode of AMC’s great new zombie series THE WALKING DEAD, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) takes a team back to the city to check on Merle and retrieve that desperately-needed bag of guns while the rest of the camp reacts to Jim’s strange grave-digging behavior. Has the man become a prophet, dreaming of death amongst the survivors, and if so, who in their little party will suffer a horrible fate before the day is out? And is Rick really just like a certain whip-wielding archaeologist, incomplete without his trusty hat? “Vatos” inevitably draws added scrutiny as it’s the single […]Read On »

TV Review: THE WALKING DEAD – Season 1 – “Tell It To The Frogs”

© 2010 AMC | Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun and Robert 'IronE' Singleton in THE WALKING DEAD - Season One - "Tell It To The Frogs"

With two new vehicles and one less racist, the team that braved the zombie-clogged Atlanta streets returns to the survivors’ camp in the powerful third episode of THE WALKING DEAD, “Tell It To The Frogs.” The most significant development is Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) long-awaited reunion with wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies),  son Carl (Chandler Riggs), and best friend Shane (Jon Bernthal). That’s Shane, the man that replaced Rick as Carl’s father figure and Lori’s lover in addition to ruling over the fearful fiefdom that serves as our microcosm of human society. Now that Rick is back, what will happen to […]Read On »

TV Review: THE WALKING DEAD – SEASON 1 – “Days Gone By” – Season Premiere

© 2010 AMC | Zombies in THE WALKING DEAD - SEASON ONE - "Days Gone By"

Stars: Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Lennie James, Emma Bell, Jeffrey DeMunn Writer: Frank Darabont based on the graphic novel by Robert Kirkman Director: Frank Darabont Network: AMC, airs Sunday nights Original Telecast: October 31, 2010 Forgive me for my obvious lack of judgment, but ten years ago, I had a conversation with someone about how zombies were not mainstream enough and no studio would even consider releasing a zombie movie as a major release. How wrong was I? From the uber-successful DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, the RESIDENT EVIL franchise,  28 DAYS LATER and so […]Read On »
