The last person you’d be expecting to star in a superhero movie would be comedian Seth Rogen. And the last person you would expect to be co-writing a superhero movie (with writing partner Evan Goldberg) would be Rogen too. Yet, on Friday, Rogen will make his superhero debut with THE GREEN HORNET, playing the iconic green-masked hero from the old radio serials who is given a modern-day facelift with comedy and crazy action. Think of it as SUPERBAD meets superheroes as Rogen plays Brit Reid, a wayward playboy and heir to his father’s newspaper empire. Realizing he wants to do […]Read On »

Will there be a GREEN HORNET 2?

THE GREEN HORNET movie poster | ©2011 Sony Pictures

While promoting his new superhero comedy THE GREEN HORNET today at the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City, CA, star and co-writer Seth Rogen admits that he and fellow writer Evan Goldberg weren’t thinking beyond the first movie while making this revisionist super hero tale. “We’re not the kind of writers to save ideas,” says Rogen with his trademark laugh who plays the titular character – a hero who poses as a villain to take a bite out of Los Angeles crime with his dutiful (and more than able sidekick) Kato (Jay Chou). “If it’s remotely good we shoved it […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: THE DUKES OF HAZZARD star James Best gets animated about the 1980s cartoon spin-off THE DUKES

THE DUKES DVD | ©2010 Warner Bros.

THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was one of the most popular prime-time series on CBS in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, but many people forget that there was a short-lived Hanna-Barbera spin-off called THE DUKES featuring the same characters, same voices, but animated instead of live action. Instead of being set in Hazzard county, the animated series followed Bo, Luke and Daisy in a race around the world with Boss Hogg and Rosco in an attempt to save their family farm. James Best, who played the dim-witted (and somewhat corrupt) Rosco P. Coltrane reprised his role with this off-shoot and […]Read On »

Hugh Jackman in REAL STEEL | ©2010 Dreamworks

No, it’s not a TRANSFORMERS spin-off. Instead REAL STEEL is a crazy new science-fiction action film starring Hugh Jackman who plays a promoter who manages robot vs. robot boxing matches. It sounds crazy, but this thing could actually work. It also has Steven Spielberg as an executive producer and A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM‘s Shawn Levy at the helm. To get a sneak peak, check out the brand new stills and the teaser trailer below. The film opens October 7, 2011.

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 4 – “Vs. The Leftovers”

CHUCK - Season 4 poster | © 2010 NBC

For the geeks like myself who love CHUCK, “Vs. The Leftovers” was filled with the kind of pop culture chocolatey goodness that you couldn’t help smiling throughout while watching. First off, you get Linda Hamilton as Mom Bartowski saving the life of Chuck (Zachary Levi) and then saying the infamous TERMINATOR line “Come with me if you want to live.”

Exclusive: ACTOR ALEX O’LOUGHLIN RIDES THE WAVES OF ‘HAWAII FIVE-0’

©2010 CBS Broadcasting Inc./Photo: Neil Jacobs/CBS

HAWAII FIVE-0 has been very good to CBS. For twelve years (1968-1980), actor Jack Lord played Steve McGarrett, the head of an elite team of the state’s special investigations. So it’s fitting that in resurrecting the franchise (an unsuccessful revival was attempted in 1997), the network would turn to an actor they’ve been very good to – Alex O’Loughlin. The Australian actor had previously starred for CBS in the short-lived 2007 series MOONLIGHT where he played a blood-sucker and in last year’s medical drama THREE RIVERS where he played a transplant surgeon. The third time’s a charm though, as the […]Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 4 – “Vs. Phase 3”

The last thing I would ever call CHUCK’s super-hot spy Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) is “the giant blonde she-male.” Yet, that becomes one of the funnier running gags on “Vs. Phase 3,” an episode where Chuck (Zachary Levi) is fighting for his life and the loss of brain cells in Thailand as villain Adelbert De Smet (Richard Chamberlain) goes digging in his brain for the Intersect.

Profile: FIVE QUESTIONS WITH ‘THE GOONIES’ STAR COREY FELDMAN

It’s hard to believe that THE GOONIES is celebrating its 25th Anniversary (it has a brand-new Blu-ray set to prove it), so it was about  time ASSIGNMENT X caught up with actor Corey Feldman to talk about his memories playing the opinionated Mouth in that now classic 1985 film. The story was a pint-sized version of the INDIANA JONES saga (albeit with more juvenile humor), as a group of kids find a treasure map and go on an adventure in the bowels of their own home town. Feldman has fond memories of the experience and we got him to Take […]Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 4 – “Vs. The Fear Of Death”

© 2010 NBC Universal | Summer Glau in CHUCK - Season 4 - "Vs. The Fear of Death"

After the last episode of CHUCK, where our intrepid titular character (Zachary Levi) had the Intersect scrambled by his double crossing spy mother (Linda Hamilton), we get an episode focused on Chuck trying to get the Intersect back online. With “The Fear of Death,” CHUCK finds the show finding its comedic rhythm again and opening the story up even wider than before. The episode is aided by guest star Rob Riggle who plays the hilarious agent Jim Rye. He’s a master at psy-ops, and understands what it will take to repair Chuck’s Intersect in his brain (namely fear). However, everything […]Read On »
