DEFIANCE, which has its first-season finale on Syfy Monday July 8 at 9 PM, is an unusual production. Its premise, which has seven alien races co-existing with humans on an Earth that has been transformed, allows for all sorts of storytelling, but what really sets it apart is that it has been developed in tandem with a Massive Multiplayer Online Game from Trion, also called DEFIANCE, that people have been playing since the show premiered back in April. Mark Stern, president of original content for Syfy and Universal Cable Productions, shepherded the DEFIANCE project for five years before it finally […]Read On »

Interview: BIOSHOCK composer Garry Schyman rockets to the INFINITE

BIOSHOCK INFINITE | ©2013 2K Games

But if that soundtrack gameplay seemed increasingly familiar, 2007’s BIOSHOCK burst onto the scene as a full-fathom dive into unique terrain. Co-creator Ken Levine sent the player into the undersea city of Rapture, a 30s style, Ayn Rand-esque fiefdom gone to horrible seed, its art deco corridors […]Read On »
