The CW Network was the last presentation at New York’s upfronts today as the unveiled their 2011-2012 schedule. One of the bigger strategic moves CBS made for their Fall 2011 Schedule is moving venerable warhorse CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION off its normal Thursday night perch at 9:00 to Wednesday at 10:00 pm to make way for the new J.J. Abrams produced series PERSON OF INTEREST. While speaking to the press today regarding their new schedule, Kelly Kahl, Senior Executive Vice President, CBS Primetime, explains that the CSI franchise (CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, CSI: NY, CSI: MIAMI) is alive and well even when the shows occasionally move. “Each [CSI] is winning its time period,” says Kahl. “It’s not like […]Read On »

While producer J.J. Abrams is known for his mind-bending, mythology-soaked series like LOST, ALIAS and FRINGE, CBS just picked up his latest production PERSON OF INTEREST created by MEMENTO scribe Jonathan Nolan. While CBS is not in the business of mythology-heavy genre shows, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler spoke to the press today about how this show will fit into its brand – especially by giving it the plum CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION slot on Thursday nights at 9:00 pm. “You have high-tech meets street vigilante and featuring very real, vivid characters,” says Tassler. “It’s a strong franchise and has […]Read On »

Breaking News: CBS announces its Fall 2011 Schedule

Poppy Montgomery in UNFORGETTABLE - Season 1 | ©2011 CBS/Giovanni Rufino

CBS announced its Fall 2011 schedule today and the network made some pretty aggressive moves to its schedule – all of which will strengthen its weak spots and cushion new shows. Some of the big moves include CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION vacating the Thursday at 9:00 slot its held for years and moving to Wednesday nights at 10:00 pm. Venerable comedy hit RULES OF ENGAGEMENT moves to Saturday nights at 8:00 pm in a grand CBS experiment of opening up more original programming on that graveyard of a night. And THE GOOD WIFE is sent to Sunday nights at 9:00 […]Read On »

Breaking News: Why CBS moved RULES OF ENGAGEMENT to Saturday Nights!?

Every year, there’s one programming decision that seems to be either incredibly stupid or quite inspired. The jury is still out on which category CBS’s attempt to move their sturdy comedy RULES OF ENGAGEMENT to Saturday night at 8:00 to anchor a new comedy block falls in. If Friday is TV’s death slot, than Saturday is a graveyard of weekly network repeats and news programs. To try and get a foothold back on Saturday by the networks would take a genius move. By using RULES as an anchor (it has a 22-episode order) to allow repeats for some of their […]Read On »

Lightening didn’t strike twice on DANCING WITH THE STARS as Ralph Macchio (and his partner Karina Smirnoff) were karate chopped off the show, placing him in fourth place for season 12. Unlike last week when somehow he escaped elimination after coming in last – partially due to a knee injury – this week his luck ran out and Hines Ward, Kirstie Alley and Chelsea Kane earned their place in the finals next week. The judges basically made their picks last night…Alley, Ward and Kane would go to the finals. Their low scores for Macchio basically told him that last night. […]Read On »
