It’s been a busy Bat-week. First, ASSIGNMENT X checked out an early IMAX presentation of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES prologue (you can view it here – The Dark Knight Rises prologue review) and now Warner Bros. has released a Bane teaser poster for the film. Last night ASSIGNMENT X was invited to attend a special seven-minute presentation of the IMAX prologue to next summer’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman film (opening July 20, 2012). This early look at the film is going to be attached to select IMAX theaters showing MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL opening next Friday (you can click on the link to see which theaters will have the DARK KNIGHT RISES prologue). Barry Levinson’s 1982 classic DINER screens at LACMA tonight at 7:30pm

One of the most underrated 1980s comedies is DINER, the writer-directorial debut of Barry Levinson and tonight LACMA is sponsoring a special screening in Los Angeles tonight, December 1, at 7:30. AMERICAN FILM MARKET 2011 kicked off in Santa Monica, CA yesterday for Day 1 of the annual market where foreign and domestic buyers and sellers convene to make deals on past, present and future films. The star wattage though has gotten even bigger in the last couple of years with director/producer Ron Howard making an appearance this year to promote and raise awareness of his new Formula 1 racing movie RUSH. Gladwin Gill recently hosted a private screening in Beverly Hills, CA of RA.ONE and also announced that over the next two years his is developing more film and television projects that will be released in both Hollywood and Bollywood.

The bonus content includes the expected deleted and extended scenes and making-of featurettes on making the prequel/reboot to the X-MEN franchise. Additionally, the Blu-ray also includes 10 free digital X-MEN comic books and an interactive feature that takes you inside the mutant tracker system Cerebro. With Zack Snyder directing and Christopher Nolan producing, excitement for the new Superman movie reboot MAN OF STEEL couldn’t be higher. Then, Warner Bros. sneaks this first look of actor Henry Cavill as Superman, and well, it’s pretty freakin’ cool. The ghost of Christopher Reeve and near lookalike Brandon Routh is giving way for a more modern caped crusader.
