While speaking about the new X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Blu-ray and DVD hitting stores this Friday, September 9, ASSIGNMENT X spoke with producer Lauren Shuler-Donner about the franchise (click here for the full interview) and the status of THE WOLVERINE sequel (click here). We also asked her about the status of the DEADPOOL spin-off film set to star Ryan Reynolds who just came off another superhero film THE GREEN LANTERN this summer.
Although brief, here’s what she had to say.
ASSIGNMENT X: Is DEADPOOL still happening?
LAUREN SHULER-DONNER: Yes.
AX: And it’s still with Ryan Reynolds.
SHULER-DONNER: Yes, with Ryan Reynolds. Honestly, I wouldn’t do it without him.
AX: Are there DC/Marvel issues since he’s now the Green Lantern for DC and Deadpool would be for Marvel?
SHULER-DONNER: I don’t see why not. Harrison Ford was in STAR WARS and in INDIANA JONES.
