Exclusive Interview: Shane West is after the femme of NIKITA

Shane West in NIKITA - Season 1 - "Resistance" | ©2010 The CW/Ben Mark Holzberg

If the title of the CW’s NIKITA, airing Thursdays at 9 PM, sounds a bit familiar, that’s because it started life as the 1990 French feature film LA FEMME NIKITA, which was remade in English as the 1993 POINT OF NO RETURN, then turned into a TV series that ran from 1997-2001. The series concerned a young woman coerced into being a ferociously effective assassin for a mysterious group. The new NIKITA is a sequel of sorts, with Nikita, played by Maggie Q, having forcefully parted ways with her erstwhile employers and now seeking to bring their entire operation down. […]Read On »

Stars: Delroy Lindo, Billy Lush, Matt Lauria, Jennifer Beals, Jason Clarke, Devin Kelley and Todd Williams Writers: Tim Minear, Jon Worley Director: Jean de Segonzac Network: Fox, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: February 28, 2011 Think of THE CHICAGO CODE episode “Cabrini-Green” as a superb mini-movie masquerading as an episode of network television. The latest installment of Fox’s impressive new series is damn good, exploring the numerous shades of gray and corruption in the city particularly with Alderman Gibbons (Delroy Lindo), the show’s Big Bad. Superintendent Teresa Colvin (Jennifer Beals) has been doing everything she can to take Gibbons down, […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: THE CAPE star Vinnie Jones sheds his skin

Vinnie Jones in THE CAPE - Season 1 | ©2011 NBC

In NBC’s THE CAPE, which has its finale tonight at 9 PM, the masked but non-superpowered hero must contend with several villains including Scales. What dock boss Dominic Raoul, aka Scales, may lack in social manipulation skills, he makes up for in sheer toughness (and has somewhat reptilian skin to go with the nickname). When the character is meant to be immediately intimidating, it helps to cast an actor like Vinnie Jones, the English former footballer turned actor who has played a lot of gritty types in films like his debut, LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, SNATCH, X-MEN: THE […]Read On »

The Dork Side: Let’s get ranty with the STARS, the Oscars, BEASTLY & more

BEASTLY movie poster | ©2011 CBS Films

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t limit my ranting to just one subject this week. There are just too many things that make me ranty. Dancing with the Polarizing Political Figures Professional witch-denier and all-around dummy Christine O’Donnell says she has been approached to be on ABC’s DANCING WITH THE STARS. In a related story, I’m going to file a class action suit against ABC for claiming that this show features stars. Christine O’Donnell? Really? What, you couldn’t get Michael Vick? ABC, have you thought about asking Ben Roethlisberger? If you are lucky, he might even rape one of your dancers. […]Read On »

Michelle Rodriguez in BATTLE: LA | ©2011 Sony Pictures

While chatting with actress Michelle Rodriguez yesterday to promote her new alien invasion flick BATTLE: LA (which opens March 11), we couldn’t resist asking her what she thought about the finale of LOST (a show in which she played Ana Lucia Cortez). “Come on – heaven and hell, man?” says Rodriguez. “I thought you guys were going to get scientific with it, other dimensions with it, like [Stephen]  Hawking’s with it, but no man,  you had to go the heaven and hell route.  It really gnarlied me out.  I was saddened by that. I thought they were going to go […]Read On »
