This week ASSIGNMENT X visited the set of the new hit ABC Family genre series THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING. All kinds of interesting things were hinted at as upcoming events in our young hero’s life, but no one teased  information like Skyler Samuels who plays Chloe herself. When asked about her character’s mysterious absentee father, Samuels made no bones about his involvement in future plotlines. “Dad plays a big role,” explains the actress. “And he may or may not lead Chloe to the biggest fall yet.” There’s other surprises around the corner for viewers in terms of who […]Read On »

TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY, the latest miniseries of the world-saving adventures of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), premieres Friday on Starz, in a co-production with the BBC. Bill Pullman plays antagonist Oswald Danes. This is far from the New York-born Pullman’s first foray into genre – one of his first film roles was starring in Wes Craven’s voodoo horror movie THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW, and he went on to play the U.S. president in INDEPENDENCE DAY – but this is one of the actors few forays into series television. Here’s what the actor had to say about his new gig. […]Read On »

FALLING SKIES has finally exceeded my limit. With “Grace” we’re stuck with another episode where Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) has to go on some sort of mission, avoid Skitters (the aliens), deal with […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: UGLY AMERICANS creator Devin Clark reveals the Season 2 dark side of New York City

The characters of UGLY AMERICANS | ©2011 Comedy Central

The world of New York City is not what it seems in the Comedy Central animated series UGLY AMERICANS (which has its second season premiere tonight). In the hilariously bizarre series (which features animation in the EC Comics vein), Mark Lilly is our hero – a social worker for the Department of Integration who has to deal with zombies, demons and wizards on a regular basis. The key to UGLY AMERICANS success is it plays everything very seriously, deriving the comedy out of the outlandish situations surrounding our hero. Creator Devin Clark spoke with ASSIGNMENT X this week in an […]Read On »

Stars: Callie Thorne, Marc Blucas, Mehcad Brooks, Scott Cohen, Patrick Johnson, Hannah Marks Writers: Liz Kruger & Craig Shapiro Director: Kevin Dowling Network: USA, Wednesdays @ 10 PM Airdate: June 29, 2011 USA’s new series NECESSARY ROUGHNESS (which has nothing, outside of football, in common with the 1991 feature of the same name starring Scott Bakula) fits in with the network’s lineup of quirky professionals taking quirky jobs. Indeed, the show has a modestly original premise – certainly no one is going to come away grumbling, “Oh, not another dramedy about a therapist treating professional sports figures!” Based on the […]Read On »
