Producers Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey have worked with Robert Zemeckis for a very long time, and they’ve seen how that director as pioneered the art of “performance capture” films from POLAR EXPRESS, BEOWULF and A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Now, they’re working alongside Zemeckis as a producer for the Simon Wells directed MARS NEEDS MOMS (opening Friday). In the new Disney 3D CGI animated feature MARS NEEDS MOMS (which opens Friday nationwide), the film employed the pain-staking performance capture technique used on such films as POLAR EXPRESS, BEOWULF and A CHRISTMAS CAROL. For actor Kevin Cahoon, it was a process he relished as he plays a Martian character called Wingnut – the sidekick to Gribble (Dan Fogler) who doesn’t quite understand the idea of what being a sidekick is supposed to be. MARS may need moms, but it also needs moms who also happen to be screenwriters. MARS NEEDS MOMS screenwriter Wendy Wells took her child-rearing experiences and along with co-screenwriter/director Simon Wells brought a fresh new take to the standard 3D CGI kid’s film. First Paramount released new stills from CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, and now they’ve released two posters for the new THOR movie from Marvel Studios hitting theaters May 6 which stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Natalie Portman as his love interest and Anthony Hopkins as a his Daddy. Yes, 3D has finally come to a Galaxy far, far away with LucasFilm finally post-converting the first film in his STAR WARS saga into that format. Diane Lane cast as Martha Kent in new SUPERMAN movie

Warner Bros. just announced that actress Diane Lane will be cast as Martha Kent in the new SUPERMAN movie reboot directed by Zack Snyder. In the press release, Snyder notes, “This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman.
