For one thing, it’s that rare PG-13 horror flick that doesn’t seem to be pulling too many punches. Arguably almost as rare, it’s a teen-oriented story that doesn’t rely on its characters being idiots to keep the plot moving. The game […]Read On »

Tyler Posey in TEEN WOLF - Season 4 - "Perishable" | ©2014 MTV

As TEEN WOLF wraps up Season 4 on MTV Monday night with an extended season finale, the series once again builds toward multiple story strands, potential deaths for beloved characters (or maybe not) and the continual evolution of Scott [Tyler Posey] becoming a true Alpha. The finale finds Scott in Mexico about to become a Berserker, his friends valiantly searching for him, Peter Hale (Ian Bohen) wanting Scott dead and former Hunter turned werewolf Kate Argent (Jill Wagner) doing bad things for her own still unclear agenda. That’s only the tip of the iceberg of stories vying for air time. […]Read On »

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films recently held the 39th Annual Saturn Awards at The Castaway Starlight Ballroom in Burbank. It was a beautiful day and night high in the hills of Burbank. This award show is not televised, and honors a genre that the main award shows generally overlook. The host for the awards was Lance Reddick (FRINGE) and the awards were dedicated to Ray Harryhausen, who passed away May 7, 2013.  Richard Matheson who was to receive The Visionary Award this night, also passed away June 23, 2013. Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films held the World Premiere of THE LONE RANGER at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland in Anaheim on June 22nd. It was a huge premiere between all the press, fans, guests and the stars of the film. Having two pens for just the photographers, I was in pen A. It was a very hot day on top of a long trip to Anaheim, but it was a lot of fun! The carpet ran down the Park’s iconic Hollywood Blvd. and screened in two theaters – Hyperion Theater and The Silver Theatre. If you are old […]Read On »

TV Review: TEEN WOLF – Season 3 – “Chaos Rising”

Daniel Sharman in TEEN WOLF - Season 3 - "Chaos Rising" | ©2013 MTV

Stars: Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, JR Bourne Writer: Jeff Davis Director: Russell Mulcahy Network: MTV, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: June 10, 2013 After the break neck speed of the season premiere, TEEN WOLF eases into a much more familiar and deliberate pace with “Chaos Rising” as many of the seeds for where the season is going are planted. Isaac (Daniel Sharman) is an important key for Scott (Tyler Posey) and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) as they try to figure out who the Alphas are and what they’re up to. Much of the episode’s investigations […]Read On »

Stars: Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, JR Bourne Writer: Jeff Davis Director: Russell Mulcahy Network: MTV, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: June 3, 2013 With TEEN WOLF set to have 24 episodes for its third season (double its normal order), the series is not wasting any time in setting things up. In fact, the Season 3 premiere “Tattoo” crams in enough story points, action and horror that it’s very clear the show is declaring we’re in for a very epic new season. My biggest concern was the series moving its shooting locations from […]Read On »
