At the Television Critics Association press tour, TNT/TBS network president Michael Wright took a moment to talk with ASSIGNMENT X about the cancellation of LEVERAGE, which concluded its five-year run on TNT Christmas Day, 2012. ASSIGNMENT X: Why did you decide this was a good time to end LEVERAGE? MICHAEL WRIGHT: I’m actually happy you asked me this, because it’s never easy to cancel a show. This was the hardest cancellation ever, because [LEVERAGE executive producer] Dean [Devlin] is a friend. We were creative partners on this show. This show was born from a meeting Dean and [series co-creator] John […]Read On »

TV Review: LEVERAGE – Season 5 – “The Long Goodbye Job” – Series Finale

Timothy Hutton in LEVERAGE - Season 5 Series Finale - "The Long Goodbye" | ©2012 TNT/Erik Heinila

Stars: Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Beth Riesgraf, Aldis Hodge, Christian Kane Writers: John Rogers & Chris Downey Director: Dean Devlin Network: TNT Original Telecast: December 25, 2012 It’s very frustrating that TNT decided to burn off the remaining episodes of Season 5 of LEVERAGE and do very little promotion with it. And then they went and cancelled it last week, with little fanfare. Even worse,  the series finale aired on Christmas night! Way to burn off an exceptional action series and make sure few people actually see it conclude properly. That little bit of anger aside, LEVERAGE wrapped up its […]Read On »

All their aliases are moot, they have to lay low and they have a new headquarter base at a micro-brewery  — courtesy, as always, of Hardison (Aldis Hodge). The new season begins with Nate Ford (Hutton) and his team of former thieves (who help the helpless by taking down big targets by performing elaborate cons) have set up shop in Portland, OR (where the series is filmed). Mark Sheppard is one of television’s reigning kings of returning characters. As CW’s SUPERNATURAL fans know, Sheppard’s character Crowley was also King of Hell for awhile, though he got demoted and then almost smote when angel Castiel (Misha Collins) ascended to godhood in the Season Six finale. The London-born Sheppard will be back in SUPERNATURAL’s upcoming seventh season and recently returned as Jim Sterling in the summer finale LEVERAGE. Right now, though, he’s talking about Crowley, who started out as a Crossroads Demon – or did he? The British-born Sheppard has some interesting theories about this – but he’s wary […]Read On »

As LEVERAGE wraps up the summer portion of Season 4 (with a return of regular antagonist Jim Sterling played by Mark Sheppard), ASSIGNMENT X chatted with star Aldis Hodge who plays hacker Hardison on the series. Throughout the course of the TNT series, Hardison has went from wise-cracking loner to someone who is finally accepting that he’s part of a team. He also has feelings for the somewhat closes off Parker (Beth Riesgraf) which has been gaining some traction the past couple of seasons. Here’s what Hodge had to say about the latest developments.
