Netflix’s new science-fiction romance series THE INNOCENTS follows two English teens, Harry, played by Percelle Ascott, and June, portrayed by Sorcha Groundsell. June and Harry are in love and run away from their respective families so they can be together. PBS brings back THE GREAT AMERICAN READ on Tuesday, September 11. Hosted by Meredith Viera, THE GREAT AMERICAN READ premiered back in May. The series aims to discover “America’s best-loved novel” by means of viewer opinion. To date, two million people have voted, narrowing the list down to one hundred titles. In Netflix’s new animated series DISENCHANTMENT, tough Princess Bean (voiced by Abbi Jacobson) goes on a quest with optimistic elf Elfo (voiced by Nat Faxon) and personal demon Luci (voiced by Eric Andre). This may sound a little like either a Disney feature or a Saturday-morning show, but DISENCHANTED is created by Matt Groening, who brought forth THE SIMPSONS and FUTURAMA, and Josh Weinstein, who has been a writer and producer on the two Groening series. MAYANS M.C., premiering its ten-episode first season tonight on FX Networks, is a spinoff of SONS OF ANARCHY. Created by SONS architect Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, MAYANS M.C. is set approximately four years after the finale of the earlier series. The Mayans motorcycle club was originally introduced in SONS. Much like SAMCRO, the men of the Mayans M.C. love their bikes, but also deal in drugs and gun-running. The company Rooster Teeth was founded by Geoff Ramsey, Michael Justin “Burnie” Burns, Matt Hullum, Jason Saldana, Gus Sorola and Joel Heyman in 2003. Their first production was RED VS. BLUE, which is still being made, and is now reportedly the second-longest-running Web series in history. RED VS. BLUE popularized the technique of machinima, or digital puppeteering.
