The 83rd Annual Academy Awards – The Complete List of Winners

THE KING'S SPEECH wins Best Picture at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 27, 2011 | ©2011 A.M.P.A.S.

There’s not much to say about the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, except that as much as they promised to be young and hip by hiring James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host, it was still the same old Academy Awards. Translation: few surprises, a dearth of actual laughs and predominantly canned speeches lacking any emotion or wit. That said, THE KING’S SPEECH took home the Best Picture title, while frontrunners Colin Firth won for Best Actor in SPEECH and Natalie Portman for Best Actress in BLACK SWAN. The full list of winners are below … Best Picture Iain Canning, Emile […]Read On »

After several weeks of Charlie Sheen’s increased confrontational behavior (especially his call-ins to radio shows), CBS and Warner Television finally made a decision about the status of TWO AND A HALF MEN and the rest of the season. Here’s what they said in a just released statement … “Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of TWO AND A HALF MEN for the remainder of the season” Wow! Originally there was supposed to be four episodes, now none. This does not bode well for a ninth […]Read On »

The Dork Side: Let’s get ranty with the STARS, the Oscars, BEASTLY & more

BEASTLY movie poster | ©2011 CBS Films

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t limit my ranting to just one subject this week. There are just too many things that make me ranty. Dancing with the Polarizing Political Figures Professional witch-denier and all-around dummy Christine O’Donnell says she has been approached to be on ABC’s DANCING WITH THE STARS. In a related story, I’m going to file a class action suit against ABC for claiming that this show features stars. Christine O’Donnell? Really? What, you couldn’t get Michael Vick? ABC, have you thought about asking Ben Roethlisberger? If you are lucky, he might even rape one of your dancers. […]Read On »

The pilot for the new CHARLIE’S ANGELS TV reboot is almost underway, and BATTLE: LA actor Ramon Rodriguez revealed yesterday that the role of Bosley, who he will be playing, is going to be completely different from what we’ve seen before. “The mere fact of them casting me, it shows they’re going in a new direction –  with respect to everyone else,” says Rodriguez. “This is a whole new take. This is my version of Bosley.” While he went through actual Boot Camp training to play a soldier in the alien invasion flick BATTLE: LA hitting theaters March 11, he […]Read On »

While speaking to the press yesterday for the new alien invasion flick BATTLE: LA (which hits theaters on March 11), director Jonathan Liebesman was actually rather forthcoming about his plans for his next film WRATH OF THE TITANS, the sequel to last year’s CLASH OF THE TITANS. Taking over for director Louis Leterrier, Liebesman says he will take the best from CLASH and then make the rest his own. “I approach each thing as if it’s your own film,” says Liebesman who says his approach will be more realistic than in the original. “I’m not going to do as an […]Read On »

Former LOST star Michelle Rodriguez was disappointed with finale

While chatting with actress Michelle Rodriguez yesterday to promote her new alien invasion flick BATTLE: LA (which opens March 11), we couldn’t resist asking her what she thought about the finale of LOST (a show in which she played Ana Lucia Cortez). “Come on – heaven and hell, man?” says Rodriguez. “I thought you guys were going to get scientific with it, other dimensions with it, like [Stephen]  Hawking’s with it, but no man,  you had to go the heaven and hell route.  It really gnarlied me out.  I was saddened by that. I thought they were going to go […]Read On »

The Dork Side: Why does everyone love Charlie Sheen?

Charlie Sheen in TWO AND A HALF MEN | ©2009 CBS

Charlie Sheen is a douche, and I don’t really care if he gets help. Yeah, I said it. I find it disturbing that this country is so willing to embrace the drug-fueled antics of a thrice-divorced, woman abusing, alcohol and drug addict, while at the same time show almost no sympathy for a young woman, raised by jacked-up, addict parents with dollar signs in their eyes. Seriously, in some ways, Lindsay Lohan never had a chance. Look, now don’t get me wrong, I’m no Lindsay fan. Still, I’m curious as to why Charlie Sheen gets a free pass and Lindsay […]Read On »
