British actor Damian Lewis took home this year for Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Drama for his portrayal of Nicholas Brody, American war hero turned secret terrorist in Season 1 of Showtime’s HOMELAND. The show also won five other Emmys, including Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Actress for Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, the CIA agent who is onto Brody – but also carries a torch for him. The BBC has released a new publicity photograph of Matt Smith as the Doctor sporting a considerably darker (and perhaps even more ‘Doctorish?’) outfit. The picture provides a sneak peek of this year’s DOCTOR WHO Christmas special. A prequel to the special will air as part of this Friday’s CHILDREN IN NEED live charity event on BBC One sometime around the 8:30-9:00pm slot. Twentieth Century Fox and Walden Media held a special screening recently of CHASING MAVERICKS at the Pacific’s The Grove Stadium 14, in the front of the theatre. The blue carpet was decorated with people holding surfboards and the fans that gathered to see the stars arrive were right behind the boards.
