Michael Shannon hired for SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL to play General Zod

Now that the heroes have almost all been cast for the new Superman movie reboot MAN OF STEEL (which is what Warner Bros. is now officially calling the film ), it’s time to move on to casting the villains. Today, Warner Bros. announced that REVOLUTIONARY ROAD and HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE star Michael Shannon will take on the role of General Zod originally made famous by Terence Stamp in Richard Donner’s 1978 original SUPERMAN and 1981’s SUPERMAN II.
