TNT’s new hour-long legal comedy/drama FRANKLIN & BASH, which premieres tomorrow at 9 PM, is named for its two attorney protagonists. Jared Franklin, played by Breckin Meyer, is so free-wheeling that he can, and will, get a witness to strip on the stand for effect. Peter Bash, played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, is a bit more strait-laced and shrewd, knowing how to capitalize on his partner’s actions. Director Peter Jackson has earned enough good will in his impressive career, that he’s afforded a misstep or two every now and again. However, with the full titles for his new THE HOBBIT prequels to his LORD OF THE RINGS now officially announced, this may be one misstep that is going to haunt him for some time. The first film will be called THE HOBBIT: AN EXPECTED JOURNEY and hits theaters December 14, 2012, while the second, dubbed THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN, arrives a year later on December 13, 2013. DreamWorks Animation held the Los Angeles Premiere of KUNG FU PANDA 2 at the Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on May 22nd. They had a huge before party with games and food that the stars and guests attended. Each attendee was giving a black gift bag filled with stuff, although I’m not sure what was in the bag! Fans lined the open area opposite from the press to get autographs and take pictures, and waited until Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt arrived; which since Jolie and Pitt love their fans, they signed many autographs.
