The excellent Disney animated film TANGLED arrives on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, and in anticipation of that release, Disney has created a very cool slideshow showing the evolution of the film’s Big Bad – Mother Gothel. A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, TANGLED and TRON: LEGACY will arrive in the 3D Blu-ray format

As HD-3D television sets are looking to become the new “it” thing when it comes to home entertainment, Walt Disney Studios announced today that it’s getting an edge on its competitors with the announcement for their Blu-ray 3D titles for 2011. Fifteen films will be released in the new year with this new format including the animated classics THE LION KING and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST as well as this winter’s big hits TRON: LEGACY and TANGLED. Rapunzel let down her hair, finally (and in 3-D) as Disney held the World Premiere of their new animated film TANGLED at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California. It was a long backdrop that was painted to look like Rapunzel’s hair. Wigs were handed out to some of the photographers, myself included and we wore them while shooting. Mandy Moore  (Rapunzel) and Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider) posed with us as the photographers on the carpet shot our photos. It was fun, except that the long wig kept catching on everything! Movie Review: TANGLED

For those jonesing for an animated Disney fairytale in the traditional style, or just a fun film that can be shared with the kids, TANGLED fills the bill. Quick, to the point and entirely enjoyable, TANGLED takes the traditional Grimm story, gives it some action and the title princess some gumption and takes off in beautiful style, looking much like the old enchanted films of yore, with 3D that brings up a couple of moving moments and is otherwise unobtrusive.

Zachary Levi may play a nerdy super spy on TV’s CHUCK, but this Wednesday he’s moonlighting as the roguish animated character Flynn Rider in Disney’s Rapunzel retelling TANGLED (which opens nationwide on Wednesday).
