JUSTIFIED, which has its third-season premiere tonight on FX at 10 PM, has brought the contemporary Western back to life. Originally based on Elmore Leonard’s short story “Fire in the Hole” and expanded from there, the series has been nominated for pretty much every award going, with Margo Martindale winning a Supporting Actress Emmy for her performance last season as country crime matriarch Mags Bennett. Paramount Pictures held the Los Angeles Premiere of RANGO on February 14 at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood, CA. Fans were everywhere and when Johnny Depp arrived the screams were deafening. Johnny took the time to go to each section and sign as many autographs as he could. The carpet was a sand color to match an “Old West” theme that was the backgrounds that ran the carpet. JUSTIFIED,  based on the work of Elmore Leonard and follows the travails of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, played by Timothy Olyphant. After a, well, justified shooting in Miami, Raylan is transferred (against his wishes) back to the place where he grew up, Harlan County, Kentucky. It’s not the big city, but to say life isn’t dull would be putting it mildly.
