Actor Tim Pigott-Smith, the subject of this interview, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 70 on April 7, 2017, a little under three months after this interview was conducted. He was at the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour in Pasadena, California, to talk about the film version of KING CHARLES III. KING CHARLES III began life as a stage play. Paul Rutman created INDIAN SUMMERS, now in its first season on PBS Sunday nights; it’s already been renewed for a second year. The epic drama, co-produced by Boston’s WGBH and England’s Channel Four, spans the years 1932 through 1945, as the British presence in India known as the Raj comes to an end. Shortly after his five-season run on CHUCK as Buy More employee/part-time rocker Lester Patel came to a close, Sahay was on the big screen as the mean boss of Seann William Scott’s Stifler in AMERICAN REUNION, which is now out on home video.
