In Hallmark Channel’s original movie ROCK THE HOUSE (which airs tonight), lawyer Max, played by Jack Coleman, finds a way to reconnect with his daughter and his old sense of joy when he gets back together with his music-making friends from his teenaged years. Coleman in fact has a musical background – he’s been on Broadway – but he’s perhaps best known lately for playing Noah Bennet, aka HRG (Horn-Rimmed Glasses), the Man with the Plan, on four seasons of HEROES. Lately, he’s had a recurring role on THE OFFICE as a Senator dating Angela (Angela Kinsey) who may be […]Read On »

Greg Grunberg and Constance Zimmer in LOVE BITES - Season 1 | ©2011 NBC/Chris Haston

Stars: Greg Grunberg, Constance Zimmer Writer: Cindy Chupack Director: Marc Buckland Network: NBC, airs Thursday nights Original Telecast: June 2, 2011 The good news, the person who greenlit the new NBC anthology romantic comedy series has long since been fired and a new regime is in place. The bad news, I still had to sit through one of the worst hours of television that I will never get back. LOVE BITES has an unfortunate name, because it’s easy to sum up the show in one easy work. It bites. And it bites hard. The idea of a romantic anthology isn’t […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Morgan Spurlock shills THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD – Part One

POM Wonderful presents THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD movie poster | ©2011 Sony Classics

I think it was around the time that James Bond boarded a Brazilian tram car with a 7-Up placard before sending a villain smashing through a British Airways billboard that I noticed (even at the tender age 15 years) that this movie was trying to sell me something. That isn’t to say how much more obvious those thoughts were when Elliot introduced E.T. to earth commercialism by handing him Reese’s Pieces, or how a Dr. Pepper machine just happened to be in the control room where Raymond Burr was facing off against GODZILLA ‘85. Those days of on-camera advertising now […]Read On »

Stars: Freddy Rodriguez, Eric Close, James Murray, Tim Blake Nelson, Carmen Ejogo, Christina Cole, Kurtwood Smith Writer: Tom Spezialy Director: Brett Ratner Network: CBS, Fridays @ 8 PM Airdate: April 1, 2011 An action comedy series centered around a CIA covert ops team may not sound like the most likely marriage of tone and premise, but creator Tom Spezialy manages it surprisingly well in the opening episode of CHAOS. By taking Dudley-Do-Right aspiring agent Rick Martinez (Freddy Rodriguez) through a trial-by-trickery first few days on the job, we get to like both him and his tormentors on the ODS team, […]Read On »

During the press event for the new Fox comedy BREAKING IN at WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco, Odette Annable (who is the female lead in the series) gave us a little peak about what the show is like. “We haven’t really seen anything like this for a while,” Annable says of the series about a high-tech security firm of misfits. “It is a little like THE OFFICE meets THE A-TEAM or GONE IN 60 SECONDS when you have that great dynamic and everyone works in the office and there is that offbeat comedy that comes from there. We are also […]Read On »

Michaela Conlin in BONES - Season 6 | ©2010 Fox/Brian Bowen

Michaela Conlin is in her sixth season of playing Angela Montenegro, the artist who reconstructs what corpses looked like as living humans, on Fox’s hit BONES (Thirsdays at 9 PM). While Angela works with forensic evidence, she’s not a pathologist like her good friend Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel), nor law enforcement like FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). However, this week, audiences will get to see a whole different side of Conlin as she plays LAPD Detective Sobel in THE LINCOLN LAWYER, based on Michael Connelly’s novel, which opens Friday. Conlin is very excited about both gigs, as she […]Read On »
