The next twelve performed on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT tonight hoping for that coveted chance to go to the sixth season semi-finals. A few brought their “A” game and some forgot to bring anything! The competition is heating up. This might be the hardest group to predict who is going through and who is going home. Most stepped up their acts, only a few faltered. It will be interesting to see what America chose as their top three, remember the judges get a pick as well. Shockingly Piers Morgan only buzzed three acts as opposed to his usual four. More shocking […]Read On »

While speaking with NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt at this summer’s 2011 TCA, ASSIGNMENT X asked about the status of THE EVENT wrap-up movie. Although things aren’t set in stone, Greenblatt does hint that a final decision about its ultimate fate could be decided quite soon. “It’s been discussed with Syfy and a few weeks ago it seemed more possible than it does today, but I honestly don’t know,” says Greenblatt. However, Greenblatt is quick to point out that THE EVENT, if it does get this last-minute reprise, will not air on NBC. “If it happens, it would definitely be […]Read On »

With THE OFFICE losing Steve Carell this season, and James Spader coming in to fill that gap, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt is confident the  show will continue to prosper on Thursday nights. “My expectations are always very measured, so that we can under-expect and hopefully over-deliver,” says Greenblatt. “THE OFFICE is a very important to us. Like I said a few minutes ago, it’s our number one show in all kinds of demos. Shows go through transitions as they age and I think losing Steve is one of those. And I was at the first table reading a couple […]Read On »

With CBS and ABC shuddering their long-running soaps, NBC is still fully committed to its daytime soap warhorse DAYS OF OUR LIVES. “It’s the only soap we have and I think it does relatively well for us,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt at today’s 2011 Summer TCA press session. Greenblatt also says the other networks shedding their schedules of soaps could also open up more of an audience for NBC’s DAYS, but Greenblatt cautions that this genre may “sort of be going into the twilight years of its existence with all the other talk shows and syndicated shows that are […]Read On »

With NBC’s Utah affiliate KSL refusing to air NBC’s new period drama THE PLAYBOY CLUB, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said today at NBC’s Summer TCA session that he doesn’t anticipate any other affiliate stations dropping out before the show debuts in the fall. “I think every other affiliate will be airing the show and are on board,” says Greenblatt. “I guess I wasn’t completely surprised. That brand name is a little polarizing, even though I think the show isn’t at all that revealing. But that station in Utah doesn’t program SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE – they don’t take it. So […]Read On »

With Christopher Meloni not returning to LAW & ORDER: SVU this year, rumors had been circulating that Mariska Hargitay would only be doing a handful of episodes of Season 13, but at today’s NBC TCA press day, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt wanted to clarify the issue. “There has been a lot of confusion about what her involvement with SVU is this year,” says Greenblatt. “And I want to make it clear that she’s going to be in every episode. There were some rumors about her sort of dropping down [episodes] a few months ago and talk about bringing in […]Read On »

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT Recap: Third Hollywood Quarter-Finals eliminations

To mix it up a bit this week on the third week of eliminations during AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: The Quarter Finals, they did something almost too cruel to imagine. Host Nick Cannon called to the stage three acts – Purrfect Angelz, Summerwind Skippers and Ian Johnson. Then, after the traditional looooonngggg pause, Cannon delivered the message to all three acts that “NONE” of you are going to the semi-finals. Man, that’s cold! AGT quickly made up for it when Cannon called out PopLyfe and Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. and told them, after the long pause, they were BOTH going to […]Read On »

TV Review: AMERICA’S GOT TALENT – Season 6 – “Hollywood Quarter-Finals” – Week 3

Twelve more performed on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT during Week 3 of the “Hollywood Quarter-Finals” hoping for the chance to go to the semi finals. None of the hopefuls seemed all that impressive this week. Sure there were a couple of good singers, some adequate novelty acts and maybe a jump roping crew that can really swing their ropes but it doesn’t look like this week will garner the ultimate winner of AGT. However, Piers Morgan only buzzed three acts this week as opposed to buzzing four in each of the past two weeks. Still, it was not an exceptional night. […]Read On »
