DreamWorks Pictures held the World Premiere of I AM NUMBER FOUR at the Village Theatre in Westwood on February 9th.

I AM NUMBER FOUR is based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Pittacus Lore (aka James Frey and Jobie Hughes) and is a suspense-thriller about an extraordinary young man, John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), who is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. He is Number Four and three are already dead. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant, John is the always the new kid with no ties to his past.

Of interest:

  • Hints abut the next book in the LORIEN LEGACIES series are hidden in the final scene of the movie.
  • Director D.J. Caruso’s family member can be found in small roles throughout the movie.
  • Teresa Palmer trained for months to play the character of Number Six and learned to ride a Ducati motorcycle as part of her intensive training.
  • Kevin Durand spent two hours a day in the makeup chair being transformed into the Commander of the Mogadorians, the ruthless, 7-foot enemies in the movie. The actors wore custom Kangool boots to help give their Mogs characters the ominous presence and gave them their odd, slow gait.

I AM NUMBER FOUR opens in theaters on February 18th and is rated PG-13
