MIDNIGHT, TEXAS, which airs Monday nights on NBC, is based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris (TRUE BLOOD) about a small town inhabited almost entirely by supernatural types. There’s a pastor who’s also a weretiger (Yul Vasquez), a vampire who ingests both blood and emotions (Peter Mensah), a tattoo artist who’s a fallen angel (Jason Lewis), a helpful witch (Paris Tirz-Henley), a freelance assassin (Arielle Kebbel) and a newly-arrived medium who talks to the dead (Francois Arnaud). Festival Report: The Scoop on SXSW 2013 – Part 3

Here in the bizarro world of SXSW up is down and down is up. So is it any surprise that their film awards don’t occur at the end of the festival but in the middle? Or that instead of the winners getting choked up the presenters are the ones with the cracking voices. And so it goes in Austin Texas that on day five of a ten day film festival the awards were presented in the once posh, now just all-out retro cool Paramount Theater.

Network: NBC, airs Tuesday nights Original Telecast: June 8, 2011 AMERICA’S GOT TALENT heads down south to Houston, Texas where many a talented act performed and got a pass to Las Vegas. Shockingly judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel seemed to agree on almost every act during the first half of a two-hour installment. There wasn’t much tension going on between Morgan and Mandel (Mandel usually can’t get enough of razzing Morgan).
